BASE:
I started out with a simple wood base my brother had made for me. He had some scrap wood in the back yard after building some shelves for his roommate and routed it out and stained it himself. I used some square ¼ x ¼ inch bass wood stock to make a boarder on the base. I then glued some ¼ inch Woodland Scenic foam inside the boarder with a hot glue gun for the foundation for my base. Once the foam was dried, I tried something new. The foam needs to be sealed before you put paint or any other material down on it. I usually use a foam sealer that also acts like glue called Avaco. This time I used plaster cloth as the sealer. It was a bit messy, so I wont try that again. Once the plaster cloth was dry, the base was ready for the ground material and building.
