Painting the Figures |
Received a prime coat of Tamiya Flat Flesh XF-15 which was sealed with Gunze Matt 20. The uniform was painted with Humbrol 29. The faces were painted with Windsor & Newton oils, the uniform with various brands.
The whole was sealed with a coat of Humbrol Matt cote and finally some drybrushing with
flesh oils was applied.

Painting the Diorama |
After the surface was dry I sprayed different earth colours from the Pactra Acryl-Email range
(Weathering A53E, Flat Brown Drab A24E ) onto the diorama. The rails were painted with Testors and Revell airbrush enamel colours. The grass was painted with Tamiya Flat Green XF5.
This mix did somewhat not harmonize as during the washing process some paint stripped off the rails.
I therefore had to seal them with a layer of Gunze Matt 20 before any new washing was applied.
When everything looked acceptable I added some more dried plants to simulate vegetation.
I used a sort of moss which is given away as present in Austria during New Year celebrations.
I dried them with dehydrating salt. I airbrushed them with an acryl colour named Decorfin wood/stone Firtree Green 654.
I additionally added some Gypsophilia to represent the flowers. I did not paint them, as the diorama will be displayed in a shop and needs some rework afterwards anyway. |
