1⁄1Ruins!

I guess you concur with me that building a good ruin in diorama is a tough job. I had this weekend the opportunity to watch the demolition of a 150 year old train station near my hometown. I took a little walkaround to provide the fellow modellers with details of what a demolished building looks like.

Great idea. Thanks for sharing those photos.
I was thinking, "What a shame to tear down such an old, historic building" but then I remembered that 150 years isn't actually all that old for a building in Europe.

I do think it is a crime to see that beautiful dressed stone knocked down instead of taken down. I do however really like the photographs and I feel they will prove of great use to some here.

Thanks for sharing Hans-Hermann ! Did DB build a new station to replace the old station ? It is a shame that the building couldn't be saved and used for other purposes.
Any chance that you would have a picture of the station before demolition ?
Thanks again for the fotos !
