Taking this one right down to the wire, I grabbed a couple more of the new effects I had, mainly Oil Stains (73.813), Engine Grime (73.817) and Brown Engine Soot (73.818). These were used in all of the areas I knew had contact with fuel and oil as well as some areas where built up of dark deposits would occur. Rounding off the weathering, I added some selective pin washes and shading with Model Wash Oiled Earth (76.521) and some faint streaking using one of the new Environment Effects, Rain Marks (73.819).
Conclusion
While there is always something I realize I would have done differently when a project comes to a close, either wanting to add something or subtract, I kind of like the way this one turned out. The US Armored Combat Earthmover M9 ACE from Takom is a fantastic model to build! Also, this little M9 ACE lends itself to such a wide variety of weathering possibilities leaving the door is open to personal creativity. All in all, the project as a whole has truly been fun one!
