Painting

The entire vehicle was painted using Tamiya paints. Tamiya XF-2 Flat White and XF-59 Desert Yellow were used for the main desert tan color. I use about 80% XF-2 to 20% XF-59 thinned with regular alcohol. Green parts were painted with Tamiya XF-67 NATO Green. The tracks were painted with Tamiya XF-68 NATO Brown for the metal parts and Tamiya XF-69 NATO Black for the rubber parts. As mentioned above, Tamiya X-26 Clear Orange was used to simulate the rusting effect that you see on some of the real vehicles. All detail painting was done with Vallejo paints. Vallejo Light Sienna and Desert Dust Wash was used to weather the tracks and the plow. I also used Vallejo Brown Model Wah on the entire vehicle. I wanted a little bit more character to my build, so I simulated a hydraulic spill where the main hydraulic cable connects the plow to the hull. I mixed Vallejo Pigment Light Sienna with Vallejo Weathering Effects Oil Stains to simulate this spill all over the area.
