This is the 1/35th Italari T26 so far. (1934 version I suspect)

I've posted some pics without flash and some with flash. I scratchbuilt the screen on the air intake with some very small pore screen and scratchbuilt the light with a small peice of plexiglas. Also added latches with small bits of wire. Can't see those very well in the pics. Sorry. #:-)
This is the inital coat of paint. No highlighting yet on the upper hull. Have done some weathering on the lower hull, Mostly rusting and silvering for wear. Most will probably be covered up by the dirt, dust and/or mud when I get to that stage.

The Head light came out better without the flash. These were the pics without flash. The real colour of the paint is somewhere between the colours of the pics.

Still need to touch up on the paint in places...

A no flash pic of the rear. I still have to install the exhaust pipe.

A flash pic of the rear. You can see the screen better on this one. Looks like I have to clean up some of the holes.
#:-)

The road wheels and lower hull. Had to flip the rear road wheel assemblies as the Italari instructions hav then placed on backward. Mind you, they look "sporty" that way, but were incorrect.

I have decided to go with the Modelkasten Track to replace the crappy vinyl ones supplied with the kit. Ordered them this morning. :-) :-)

Anyone have any Idea what the inside of the Turret hatches looked like? Any comments or pics would be welcome. Also, did the hatches have any sort of latches or Handles to lift open on the outside?

Any comments or criticism would be appreciated. You all here have been my best source for advice and help

Looks like a pretty clean little tank. I'm considering this one for the Barbarossa campaign. How is the kit?

The Zvezda/Italeri T-26 kits aren't bad. They aren't Tamiya, but they go together pretty easily.

Selrach--There is one thing that doesn't come with the kit that you are missing. There should be another piece of the aerial that connects the main sort of circular aerial with the turret (it is actually the connection to the radio inside the turret to the aerial). It should go from that hollow tube that is sticking up on the rear of the turret roof to the aerial. Here are some pictures of a BT-7 Model 1935 (had the exact same turret) that show what I am talking about:

One of the interesting things a photo does is to give you "new eyes". You see things inthe picture you might miss when looking at a piece in the flesh.

I'd be very careful about the use of silver where paint has been scraped off unless it is in a spot that gets "polished" by constant and very heavy wear and tear. Chipped paint will reveal a dark colored metal which will turn rusty in very short order, even disk brakes will develop a layer of rust after a couple days without use.

That aerial looks like old copper or brass, would it be that color in the field?

The kit has been pretty easy and fun. A little sanding and putty, but that's cool. One suggestion: Buy AM tracks. The vinyl rubberband ones aren't worth the hassle. Way too small and tight.

Selrach--I highly doubt that the colors are correct. I think that they would have painted the aerial the same color as the vehicle. The only exception that I know of is winter whitewash camo. Every shot I've seen of Russian vehicles with this type of aerial that has been whitewashed has the aerial left the base color of the vehicle.

Here are some pictures and the link from Kunihito's (one of the most incredible modelers I have ever seen) BT-7 which will allow you to see how he did the aerial (this is actually the exact same turret as yours since he is doing the Zvezda BT-7):

Sort of a shame , The color contrast looks cool between the burnished copper and the green. Would have looked interesting

Also, the headlight on the Italari/Zevezda model looks a little large (not that I'm going to do anything at this point about it... I think.)

Damn those look nice :-) Makes my excuse at modeling look pretty crappy! #:-) That detail is just a little beyond my current skill...but maybe someday...
