Hi Guys'
Just wondering how well liked MiniArt Figures are.
Please tell me what you think of them.
Cheers.

In a word .... YES.
The poses have offered lots of possibilities ... dynamic and different to whats on the market, and the quality is quite good and getting better. OOB they are excellent, but offer up even more if used for conversions. Their Germans at work for example have trousers and shirts ... no jackets and belts. How many dios have you seen with Germans in relaxed positions but have their full kit in place. Heads are usable in the later kits, which cant be said for Dragon ... even in the Gen II kits.
The improvement in armor have stolen a lot of headlines in the recent years, but injected figures have increased considerably in quality as well. Add Masterbox, Tristar and ICM to this list and you´ve got some really excellent figures to work with. No need to rely on the Tamiya munchkins or Italeri manequins anymore!!

Some of the earlier kits are crude such as the Marching Russians and Russian Tank riders, but the newer kits are great.

As David mentioned there are more than a few figure sets reviewed...
Here's a full list of the MiniArt reviews on KitMaker: http://hfmodeling.kitmaker.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showmaker&makerid=236&sort=c.sort
Also look under the Armor/AFV category... you'll find a few figure sets there as well...
The MiniArt 1/16 plastic figure kits are fantastic. They're the only company making historics (i.e. non-WW2 and modern) in 1/16 plastic. They have often been criticised for being rather static, but with their low price they make for a wonderful base for a conversion.... just have a look here: 120mm Roman Signifier by Auburn

The 1/16th are also nice. While not up to par with most resin and white metal brands, they offer a good basis for conversions even OOB.

As Pat said don't bother with the early figures, Russian Infantry Marching, I got a set.
They are pretty crude, lots of flash, and poor detail, some detail even missing from mouldings, but the recently released stuff look a lot better.
I'll probably use mine as a base body parts for scratch building my own figures.....one day.
They may lack the fine detail of Dragons Gen 2 stuff but they, along with Masterbox, are giving us some interesting poses/set ups whilst Dragon seems to lack imagination in this regard at the moment.
What set were you interested in ?

I'm with the other guys...I recommend the later Mini Art kits, although, if you go to their website and click on gallery you will see some pictures of the Russian troops marching and they can be worked up to acceptable levels. Check out the gallery on their website.

PS: I also agree that the other Eastern European manufacturers such as Masterbox, ICM, Alanger are also making great strides. You can get all of these kits from: http://www.hobbyterra.com/

Many of the newer kits are splendid, but some of the heads aren't. I usually insert a nice Hornet (the best) head and presto, a really nice figure in 1/35.
The early figs were pretty crude but they have improved on par with Dragon and Master Box, which are both very good also.

Take a look in my photos to see why I don't rate their early sets, although this set, Russian Infantry on the March, is still for sale.
Very poor and no reply from Miniart when I emailed them on it.
Having said that I agree as others have said, they've come on since then and the newer releases (this years etc.) look to be good.
Just make sure you look inside the box before you leave the shop.
