Be gentle. But since I have just restarted work on it,There is time to do any corrections.
I am going to do it as early,so the short exhausts may be ok,but if the r counters say extended pipes,I can bodge something together.
The build is going smoothly. With the possibility of a Tristar release,I may stay OOB on this build.

Nice talking to you last Sunday. In the first picture, it looks like there's stiil a mold line on the muffler (maybe it's just late and my Mark ! eyeballs are tired) but given the overhang in the subsequent pictures, this may be moot. :-)

Wow Carl ...you and I are both at about the same place on this build...I'm having fun with it staying pretty much out of the box on this one ..except for adding handles to the tool clips...I also have never used so much putty on punch marks in all my modelling days...I just sanded off the punch marks on the tracks though...drilled the hole in each tooth...then realised that there was no way those tracks could be connected without a pin in each link which Dragon forgot ...so I spent 2 nights drilling little indents into each track link...but does make those tracks look better!! I haven't glued the sides together yet ...I'm going to shoot a base coat before I add the walk ways and mufflers ....Can't wait to see yours finished.!!

Al,I see what your MkI eyeballsees. But I havent gotten the putty out yet,I have to see if more spots show up that need it too.I dread the tracks,But I am not afraid!I have Hudson and Allen "mud" covers a multitude of sins.
Merk,It cost me $55 US,o what ever the conversion is...
It is worth the money. And at the least,a good training experiance if Tristar comes out with something interesting.
Did I ever mention I've built 3 Famos? 1 when they first came out.
2nd one to have a Spade.
3rd one with the trailer.
So a second morser isnt beyond the realm of possibilities...
Thank you all for the comments so far,Sing out if you notice anything I may not have.
So far Al leads the ponts race with 1

It's getting bigger!
This is a view of some more work that I have done. Now that a build for hire has been completed,I am able to bound along.
I will leave the handrails along the sides of the walkways off, until after painting,They may invite the clumsifingerus disease!

There are 3 more pictures here of the loading device as I built it.I will put the pictures on this post later, when I get into work,Tuesday sometime.
That was step 13-15.Next is the mortar itself.

Looking good carl.
I have the kit and finished it. THere is one thing you can add to the loading mech. is a thin piece of styrene to the front area of the loading deivice. Dragon has left this part out. once that is installed it will work smoothly without it jumping off the track every time.
Looking good on yours.

Good to see you are back with another update again. I love this beauty. Really nice build so far. The molding looks really good...... some nice little rivet detail and the teeth of the mechanism looks crisp. what are your opinions on it so far?

If you want my opinion on this kit ,Dragon has really let us down from the quality that we are used to...If you want something that looks like a Karl..well then it is okay...but really they made so many mistakes it is rediculous....everyone has heard that the wheels should not line up on both sides as they do on this kit ...the tracks ..well you would think that they could at least have some kind of an indent to show the connector pins ...I won't complaint about the tooth not drilled ...punch marks all over ..no casting effects what so ever and if you look at pictures of the real thing ,you would swear that it was just a huge block of cast metal...the gun barrel is hard to clean up and has the rifling going back in straight lines instead of twisted (got to give them credit at least they did the rifling) ...Alot of missing bolts and rivets all over ...some of the the controls for raising and lowering the cannon are molded in place instead of being a round rod ....there is a casting mark on the real Karls that leaves a round circle on both sides, on one side it is moulded with the "wires " in place which look terrible because they have raised half ot the hole along with the wires..and on the other side the "hole "is actually molded backwards and is now a lump! I'm glad I built it ....good practice for the Tristar kit ...would I pay another $90.00 canadian for it?? Nope!! Now I got to go and start to paint that camo!! I have to be finished by next Saturday got a show to take it to..What are your feelings about the kit so far Carl??

Feelings,nothing more than FEELINGS.
I looked at those"wires" and my referance book.I believe those are lubricating lines to various parts in the recoil BOX.
I am going to slather the sides of the "box" with putty and work it to a rough texture, more than plain liquid cement can create.
Since I can only see one side at a tome, and this is not a contest model,I can live with the suspension arms lining up with each other.
The only thing that would burn my butt,is if DML "corrects " the hull.
More pictures shortly.I am in the home stretch.

Rick I am on Step 16 or so.Have you extended the tailpipe? If you have the Jentz book, you will see how far the pipe got extended. What is your base color? Since I am leaving my exhaust pipe short,It looks like I will be doing Dark Grey.

Hi Carl ....I'm doing mine in the 3 color camo ...zuis....the tail pipes are longer on Loki ..each vehicle was different...Since doing it out of the box I didn't want to do over the pipes ...pretty well finished ...needs a buff dusting tonight after work ...some pastels and just in time for the show here...Anybody coming to Quebec city this week-end ...Should be fun ...and Mark Bannerman will be doing a little seminar on painting figures ...Now if I can just finish judging in time to see that ...I need the practice...
