Gday Dutchie
I remember this diorama, and was impressed then as I am now...
The backdrop is beautiful, and you have set up the parade well. As you say, 'it happened', and was an undeniable act that worked to shape a nations' psyche. Any chance of some clearer photos?

One of the three best dio I seen, entirely phenomenal. Only to applaud.
Desires that I could do some dio only half so good.

Wow nice dio mate, I remember seeing this in the early stages and you have done a nice job. Iam impressed with the array of figures you have, where did you et the standard bearers from? Iwould like one for a planned project I have.
So this is how it all started, will you be doing the Nuremberg rally next?
Cheers

Pretty neat and different dio. Is it possible to get an overall view rather than the close ups? I'd like to see the who;e piece.

Kidding I see Herman Gobbles and the dude himself.

Thanks so far. I'll see if I can make some more pictures (like an overall view). The Standard bearer set comes from Andrea. You can see Himmler on the 2nd picture.

Dutchie...
One word - OUTSTANDING...
I WISH I could model figures as well as you...I think it tells a very poignant story...and it does so very POWERFULLY...I look at it, see the kids on the sidewalk, and think...HERE is where the insanity began...
COMPLETELY authentic in my eyes to the scene...it's like looking at a clip from a film. This belongs in a museum.
Bloody well done...

I saw something like that done some years ago at Long Island, albeit the subject was an ancient temple in its hayday and as ruins. It was on a turntable.
Doing the same here, the backside being the front of he building in ruins with a burnt out vehicle and much rubble and perhaps a civilian in tattered coat carrying a suitcase walking from the left would certainly alleviate any questions about the motive of the piece.

Hi Dutchie,
You've set the scene very well and it looks like you have included all the main villians. Looking at it reminds me of the footage I've seen of Hitler and his cronies and how easily people got caught up in his madness. It also has a rather evil menace about it which is very appropriate for what was to follow.
Excellent piece of work and part of history whether we like it or not. One more good reason why people shoudn't forget what really happened during that terrible and tragic time.

Turned out nice Dutchie.
I'd like to see a few over all shots also.

Wow guys, thanks. Feels like a warm bath. On a dutch forumI got some grumpy remarks made by someone who never shows work of his own and some hatemail regarding the subject. After responding I got kicked out. Well, I'll stick to ArmoramA. I'll try to make some better pictures. For now "Happy Holydays"

Well done... I think it shows how this site is supportive and encouraging to its members - and I'm heartened by the positive responses you've had...
It is indeed a difficult subject to tackle - but we can't change history - we just re-create it in smaller scale... but re-create isn't the right word - we illustrate it in smaller scale; and it's important to be able to do that without fear of recriminations... once again, well done, a great dio, (and I would also like to see some more pictures of this work...)
many thanks for sharing
Richard
I see a red door and I want it painted dark olive, dry brushed in sand and add some etched brass while you're at it, please. Failing that, paint it black...

I remember seeing this previously. It came out really well.
I know that other well known builders have done some similar themed dioramas, so you're not any different. Keep up the good work.
