They're not bad but they do some highly useful sets (the civilian refugees in 1/35th) their military figures in this scale are o.k. but not brilliant. They're one-piece mouldings which limits their usefulness considerably. As the Ger,man Army (in every possible variant) is well covered from DML, Masterbox, MiniArt etc. etc. etc. there doesn't seem a lot of sense in getting them. The civilians are good though...

What does SUCK (big-time) is their distribution network. Even in GErmany, they talk of 6 month delivery times to the stores...

If you look under Preiser on the reviews you´ll find a 2 reviews.

I like them, but then again civilians in styrene is/was not that common.

The majority are one piece figures, which due to molding limitations means you will be doing a lot of work to bring them up to snuff. In other words, there are no undercuts, and some details are soft. But a little work with files, and a #11 blade, and a small ball bit in a dremel does wonders for them.
Depending on your available time, and the time you wish to put into each figure, your results will vary. (I've been working on the refugee set for a year or two now, a little here, and little there, something to fill in time between other projects, when I only have a little time to kill. Obviously, not a major- I have to get these done project, and if I live long enough, may actually be finished and used some day- )

Ha, I also have been working bit by bit on the Preiser civilian refugees for about a year!! Whenever I am extremely bored with a project or just feel I should be paying some penance I pull them out.
My observations:
1) Although they are somewhat unique in design and subject, they (IMHO) are overpriced for what you get in the box.
2) My set arrived missing one of the rear cart wheels but based on how long it took to get the kit I opted not to squeal and go through the stress of trying to get it replaced
3) The plastic they use sucks! It's hard to carve even with a new blade.
4) We won't talk about the faces.
5) with the amount of effort you put into them just to bring them into an area close to Dragon figures you might as well use them as 'models' and sculpt your own version

I keep wondering what the Asian guy, (forgive me as I can't remember his name) who posts his "renovated" Tamiya figures, could do with the Preiser figures.
Cheers,
Charles

I have the Preiser 1/35 German Military Police set and the poses are hit and miss. I replaced all the weapons and hemets with DML items. I wanted to get several of the civilian sets but with Masterbox releasing civilain figures (I just ordered the "Checkpoint" set) I'll just wait for them. Masterbox and MiniArt quality are equal to / better than Preiser at a much better price.
I build a lot of Military Police figures ( I was an MP in the US Army for 4 years) and am really excited by the new German and US Military Police figures that have been announced.
