Has anyone used Tank Workshop U.S. Half-Track Wheels, and will they go with either the M3A2 or an M3 Scout Car?

BOB

I'm pretty sure the Tank Workshop wheels are casts of the Tamiya wheels so it would be a bit redundant.

They could be altered to fit the Scout Car but they aren't designed to be used with that kit, so it may take some work.

Is there still a chance to sign up for this ? I've never done a campaign.

Enlisted now and will do one of the old Tamiya kits in my stash will most likely be the m21 and will hopefully get a good upgrade for it at my next show and some reference for all of the halftraks I,ve got.

I've got a Dragon M-2 that needs to be finished and a couple of their 251s (C and D models) that also need to be built. I'm sure I can make some progress on at least one of the listed models. Oh, well...shucks, O.K. I'll do it. BTW, how does one install a picture of his postings, such as you have, Emre? I've tried; but can't seem to make it work. I like the Campaign logo you have and would like to know how to include that in my postings. Thanks for starting this campaign and for any help you can give on the Campaign ribbon issue.

OK, I'm definitively in!
I am entering with a SdKfz 251/2. Basic vehicle a Tamiya SdKfz 251/1 Ausf.D with an Azimut 8cm Granatwerfer-conversionset, maybe even some PE.

Here we go again!!!

There! These are two possibilities for the Halftrack campaign. I'm leaning toward the 251, since it's nearer completion; but that M-2 is begging to be done. Hmmm. Thanks for looking! Dave

Sorry to bother you Jumpmaster, but that Sdkfz 251 is a little to "complete" for the campaign. It looks nearly ready for paint and in terms of campaigns, since we are supposed to start building on the campaign launch date, it is a bit too much done.

The M2, on the other hand, looks good for the campaign. If you can keep it untouched till September, it should be good

The M-2 it is, then! Thanks for clarifying that, Emre! I will hold off on it, until September. Until then, have a great summer! Dave

Change #3 to my Halftrack Campaign selection: I'm going to use Dragon's SdKfz.251/1D Three in One kit to make a Polish vehicle used in the Warsaw uprising. I'll post pics a.s.a.p. Best wishes for success in the Halftrack Campaign! Dave

And now for something completely different. Just saw this campaign and thought it'd be a great motivator to get to a project I've been putting off for a long time. I'd like to build an Opel Maulitier based on an old Italeri kit. No, not the kit you're thinking of, the 1/24 scale Opel Blitz kit.
Yep, a 1/24 scale Maulitier. Italeri's Opel Blitz kit is really nice just OOB, but I've always thought it'd look really nice as a halftrack. It'll take a little bit of scratchbuilding and casting but I've always thought those vehicles had a fantastic appearance. So if anyone knows of some really good line drawings of a Opel Maulitier then please let me know. I'm in!

Wow, James. Sounds like an ambitious project. It will be interesting to follow.

I bought Dragons fantastic 1/35 Sd.Kfz. 251/22. It is a stunning kit at a very low price compared to what you get in the box: PE part, turned aluminium barrel, driver, 2 of each AP and HE shells turned in brass, huge decal sheet, driver figure, two uniform jackets, 4 figure gun crew, magic track links.... Simply fantastic!!!

I traded that kit previously (forced to trade is a better term, heh), now that I see it once more I have the urge to purchase it once more. Why did you have to pick that one Jesper, I have promised myself not to get new kits... I have to take a friend to the LHS tomorrow (he came from a different city) and I even know on which shelf this kit stands... Gone is my 30 Euros...

I'm doing the same one Jesper! It is a great looking kit for the money, pick one up (again) Emre, we can have a trio of 22's

Do not underestimate the power of the Dark Side, James! I have managed to "reduce" the number of my AFV stash down to 82 so purchasing new kits is not a good idea for me

well well well...
what do you know... 2 x 251/22...
I am working on one of those too (my "endstation"-project) and it is a great kit! I just ran into a little trouble with the guncradle. The instructions are a bit vague on these steps of the build, so reading carefully would be a wise thing to do!
The figures provided with the kit are quite useless though, because these are to be used with a gun in it's original version.
I will be looking forward to see those too!

Well well well, what do you know, I resisted the temptation to buy it. We visited another hobbyshop on the way home, there was yet another Sdkfz 251/22 waiting on the shelves. I resisted that also!

But of course, since I needed to support the modelling industry, I bought paints and supplies worth the kit's money Once the money is bound to be spent for modelling, there's no stopping it, right (Besides, I experienced that money spent on "logical" paints and supplies always pays back)

Hello Emre,

What do you think about it?

This is a S Model resin kit of Polish half-track from 1939 in 1/35 scale...maybe I can make it for this campaign?

Hi Adam,
you will beat us when it comes to the most original kit!
Please do build that one!

Thanks for the advise on the 251/22, Ron.

Adam, I have to agree with Ron. That would be a unique build for this campaign. Not like the rest of us going with main stream Dragon kits.

Looking forward to get started
