I haven't followed your LAV from the beginning, but after looking back to the first page I like your Lav .The interior looks awsome, especially the pin ups.I'm looking foward to seeing more progress pics.

Great work Ray !
Outstanding work....soooooo much detail.
Bill MH are saying the '25' PhIII update should be ready about the end of this month. I can't do much more without some new hatches / hinges etc. So I've been asking regularly
Cheers

Thanks for all the comments lads, i trully apreciate it coming from such skilled modellers as yourself.
Not a full diorama, probably just a desert sand base with some loose stowage around it. Im thinking about getting one of the new AA figure's as well. The bloke standing with his hands in his pockets as it should be easy to change the head and make the trousers Australian.
The pinups were done on my own cheap inkjet on some white decal paper. They came out much better than i expected!

Do you intend to build some base or a much complete diorama?

Man, this is a great build-along! Thank you for taking sooooo many pictures along the way. That decision has allowed us, who picture results such as yours on our own models, to see the processes that you employed, which can serve to teach. I have followed this build eagerly because you've shown, quite clearly, that a scratchbuilder KNOWS that, even though you can't see it, it's in there. And then you add-"Here's how I did it".
Verrry cool. Thanks

Awesome detail. Having been in the back of a few Aussie PC's I see the artwork is very realistic and correct.

Ray, that is just one awesome build!!! The paitience that you have to create something with so much detail is truly outstanding. Where did you get the Stery Aug assualt rifles? That is a different twist.

I'd like to second that question. Are those available online? Did you scratchbuild them? (It wouldn't suprise me at all!)

Not a big update today. Just tinkering around while waiting for the MH gear. Sorry if im boring you with all these photos! Im going to have to cull some soon anyway as im running out of room in the gallery.
I realised id forgotten the drivers black out curtains, so i made them out of lead foil.
Also finished off the fuel lines that run under the turret. These are my creation, i dont know what would be under there and i needed something to break it up a bit. Im doing one car full of stowage, and one car empty. I also added the F88 in its rack. The stowed aslav isnt getting one, as i intend to put the commanders F88 up on the roof.
Stowage strapped in.
After more experimenting with my inkjet, I added an FHM mag.
They are in the Legend Stryker stowage set. It comes with a handy open MRE box as well. No decals though, so its back to my inkjet for that when i get around to it.
Day off work tomorrow so ill try to make a bit more serious progress! Ive spent way too long on this, its time to hurry up and finish it!

I got the new Mouse House Phase 3 ASLAV kit in the mail!!
Still havent sealed up the hull yet, i still need to finish of the last of the details inside (straps etc).
I couldnt wait to hook into the bar armour anymore so today i went to work on the turret. Ive had it all tacked in place to make sure it all fits which it does, so now its off until the painting is done. It wasnt as difficult as i thought it would be, and the very clear intructions helped a lot.
Still have the hundreds of resin bolts and nuts that hold all the panels together to add. And the second vehicle.
I really hope they release a bar armour kit for the hull....

Sweet Ray - Sex on wheels !!!
That bar armor looks great - you've certainly got stuck right into it Jason is really doing a great job with the instructions on the new releases. For modellers that are is not familiar with these machines, the instructions are REALLY important !
Well done Jason.
My bits are in the mail - I think I should get them tomorrow
Can't wait to see your next steps.
Cheers

WOW, Paul said it right, you really did tuck into that bar armour!
I spent some time and went through the development of these cars once more and I am impressed all over again. I see the interior stowage you advised me about the other day and it makes sense.
I think this is a really important build as it isn't often you not only get to see the insides of these machines but you get to see how things are stowed as well. This should definitely be a feature and saved for all time here on the big A.
I am also encouraged by your comments about the bar armour, I look forward to the challenge.
Amazing work Ray, the more pictures the better, pile them on I say. You mentioned that your photo gallery is running out of room, you should make a move over to Photo Bucket and store your photos there, just a thought.
Regards
Bill

Ive finally got the hull sealed up.
Just before sealing. One stowed and weathered with Mig Gulf Sand, the other is going to stay clean.
Also I found that the resin periscopes seemed to small. Plus i had already scratched the scopes inside at the same size as the kit moulded ones, so i added some 3mm plasticard to make them the correct length.
And the hull sealed. Now im at the painful and boring process of filling, priming, sanding, repeat before i can add the non slip, then the exterior detail and begin the paint. I removed the bustle bins so i can paint them separate and add them and the bar armour last.

Good to see you back from the great fires. Was it hard to seal all that working side after all?
Can't wait to see the paint on.
Excellent work.

Hi,
you've done an amazing job on your model. And a single one was not sufficient for you ! It's incredible to put such an effort to a model.
With all the stuff inside, you perfectly showed how cramped an AFV can be. Good luck with the paint job !

Sorry for the very very lengthy delay, i havent been around these parts in a while.
Unfortunatly I had to shelve the hobby completly since the last update- mostly due to a shiny new job (dont ask- ).
So alas both kits sit in the same state as they did in February 2009. Hulls are sealed and still awaiting exterior details and paint.
John from Mouse House just recently sent me an email about some decals i did for my ASLAV PC a couple of years ago (also still sitting unfinished) which sent me out into the shed to dust some things off.
And i found these two.
One hull is soon to be on the way to John via post for him to have a detailed look at.
The other has been dusted off and it is my intent to complete it as soon as i can. Reading back over this thread made me realise how much work (and dollars) i actually put into it, and it seems a shame to have it destined to be boxed up and never completed.
Stay tuned for updates. I intend to have some shortly.
Hopefully this time not in another year or two...
