Hi guys, just a quick question:
I'm looking for a 1/35 T-34/85, but I want one with vinyl tracks (I hate individual link tracks). Can anybody suggest one? I was looking at maybe the Italeri T-34/85. Inaccuracy is not a problem for me. Thanks!

Italeri (ex-Zvezda) T-34-85s have the worst vinyl tracks known to humankind

The Tamiya one does have vinyl tracks, and an undersized turret...
Honestly this is one case where buying the Dragon -85 (indy links and all) is the best way forward - and I say that as a confirmed un-fan of indy links. At least with the T-34 they're large links and there aren't too many of them.

If you hate indy's then here is the cure....
Use tamiya extra thin cement (green lid)
And glue the first few liks together then lay the rest out together and simply dab exces amounts of tamiya xtra thin into each link wait 5-8 mins them pick them up and wrap them around the wheels its that eazy.
The finel link will be made at the bottum so you can rest it on the table to let it dry.

Thats a good tip that I plan to use in the future. Im not a fan of the individual links myself, although the do look better but can be a right pain in the backside. Fruil tracks, although brilliant, can double the price of your model!!!

hey,
The indy tracks for the T34's real aren't that bad to put together, and Ive used the Maquette AM tracks on a few of Tamiya's offering, and finished results are well worth it,.big thing you'll need to remember when building these Indy tracks ,is not to glue the idler wheel/pivot arm in place,so you can adjust it properly, this is very important when building the T34 tracks, with them being different, one with guide, other being no guide.
