Per Erik-- I love it! What type and shade of paint did you use on the tank commander's helmet?
thanks

Sorry,
Missed this one somewhere anong the way, excellent looking build. One question are the bundles on the back ranging poles (red/white ends?) if so they look good in their rolls but a bit too thick.
Excellent stuff.

@Jeff: He he, I don't think I'll be making a base for this one right now. IPMS Nationals is coming up february 21-22 so the time is limited, maybe later.
@Tim: Thanx! Glad you like the weathering!
@Ed: Thank you very much!
@ivenhoe6: Thank you very much! The dudes are from S&T Productions sculpted by a guy named John Rosengrant. Glad you like my painting effort on the little dudes too.
@DJ: Thanx a lot! The color on the TC's helmet is Vallejo Olive Drab with a couple of filters and a slight drybrush with 502 Abteilung Faded Green Oil paint. There's a thread here describing a little more about the painting process.
@Ant: Thank you! Go ahead and do yours, and please post pictures. No pitfalls except that the DS tracks are a bit long, I had to cut them down 1.5 links, other than that a good kit. I have a build log of the kit here if you are interested.
@Alan: No problem. Glad you like the final result. To be honest I really dunno what the poles on the back are. They came with a Verlinden Sherman stowage set, looked like a couple of rolls I'd seen in a color photo in a book here at home so I just added them for a touch of color.
Thanx again!
@Dave: Thank you very much! **bowing gracefully **
@jjumbo: Thank you very much, glad you like it!
@Paul: Thank you, glad you like the overall finish of my Sherman.

I think I've said this before, but I will say it again, simply superlative. An excellent example of what I would call the realistic school of armor painting.

He he...
No base for this puppy, Jeff.
I took silver in the Norwegian Nationals at the end of february without a base, so I just put her in my show off cabinet alongside the prize plaque and moved on.
I'm working on a motorcycle, an old school bobber, as a therapy project now before moving on to another AFV.

A good enough answer.
I guess will have to let you slide on this one but the next one well have to be on it right at the start.
Good job on the Silver Medal I think you deserved better but if the Competition was anything like yours then well deserved.
Cheers

Thanx Jeff!
The class I competed in had 50 models in all and the winning Panther was an awesome model.
What tipped me to the silver medal was a slight weathering mishap on the top left corner of the front glacis plate, you can see some minor brush strokes in the weathering if you look closely.
But I'm very pleased with the silver considering that Adam Wilder was one of the judges in this panzer class at the contest.

Were they using Magnifying glass.
I see nothing but hey I believe you.
So nothing wrong with the Panther strange indeed.
Adam you say then a better deal as I heard he is hard on judging.
Keep the Faith.
