Hope to see that HobbyBoss kit ! and Happy birthday too !

No problem going off-topic Lars.

I would like to join, with what I have not worked out yet but I have time and Nordic armour is quite new to me
.
I like these campaigns they give me the disipline to finish a thing instead of adding to the 90%'ers piled up around the bench.

I agree Paddy, the problem is when you join far too many campaigns... I did.. but gladly extensions usually make up enough time to finish the builds..

I am now getting ready to start on the StrV 103B. It is going to be a interesting kit. Bu=oth because the Strv. 103 is a very unique concept tank and because this is one of the early Trumpeter kits and the details seems to be a little on the thick side. Sort of the 80'ties Tamiya kits.

I´ll like to point out a problem about Hobby Boss’s kit for you Scott. Next to the right headlamp there is a triangular plate, which is a left over from the Swedish version. The Danish Leopards do not have this. Instead the round discs should continue between the headlamps.

Hope it’s still possible for you to correct this. Nice build – looking forward to see the end result.

Great looking Leo II, Scott. Looking forward to see it in Danish colours.

I have made a little progress on my Strv. 103B. The lower hull with suspension is finished. The fit of the roadwheels is a little loose so the roadwheels will probably have to be glued on. The suspension is flexible so it can be adapted to uneven ground if one wishes to. A nice feature on a very cheap kit.
The commanders cupola has some nice details, but the remotely controlled LMG is a little basic and soft regarding details.

More to follow....

Great work ! They look awesome, did you use polish to fix the film to the 'glass' ?

I now prepaint the area around the blocks to get a crisper finish after painting too.

BTW: I'll be back into it int he next week or so....

I've had a bit of a break

I have now finished construction on my Strv. 103B. It is a pretty cool kit with a lot of nice details. There are some quite heavy sink marks here and there, but they are mostly placed in places where they are almost invisible.

The size of the Strv. 103 surprised my when the kit was finally finished. I always thought of the Strv. 103 of a cool war small tank hunter. It is definently not. Almost the size of a Jagdtiger although less than half as high. I took a picture of it next to a PzJg. I to show the large size and low height of the Strv. 103.

Comments welcome - more to follow...

Nice progress on the Leo II, Scott. I think the green is spot on. During my time in the army I saw a lot of different colours - even on the same vehicle! So the margin for artistic licence is much bigger than many modellers want to think.

I also had some problems with determining the colour for my Strv. 103B. The kit instructions say RLM 02 grey, but that seems much too grey for the colour photos I have seen, so I mixed my own colour which looks fine to me.

The suspension has also received the first coat of mud. It will be painted and weathered and then the next coat of dark and damp mud will be added. More to follow.
