It's a Japanese site and it's a great fantasy vehicle. Looks cool but a real "what if" tank. MAYBE something like it existed on paper....

I'd love to be in a IL-2 scouring the ground for targets if that guy was in the vicinity! Bang bang and dead German SPG!

German stuff lends itself to lots of "what if" projects, both Aircraft and Armor

Pure SH FI but it looks cool. Some sort of paper panzer, Tiger II Grille which did exsited with naval howitzer. The big big brother of a sturmtiger. Love the disk type camo, great fun

i have to agree with Geraint on this one it looks like a tiger II grille or what the modeller has interpreted it to have looked like if it had been built, but like you said bryan it's still cool.

No matter what it's supposed to be i still the overall finish is top notch but from the looks of it looks like some sort of Tiger II /Ferdinand hybrid

Hi guys,
It looks something like one of the proposed SP variants based on the Tiger II components, the bigger brother of the 17cm Grille.
It's either the Grille 21 with a 21cm mortar or the Grille 30 with a 30.5cm mortar, looks too small to be the Grille 42 with a 42cm mortar version.

http://www.achtungpanzer.com/grille-series-cricket-series.htm

It's obviously supposed to be a more advanced version as it's fully enclosed like a Brummbar and not open like the original Grille prototype.
Whatever it is, it's a big sucker !!!
Cheers all

Thought I had seen this kit before.

New Connections. Select the "Products" link on the left then scroll down towards the bottm. It's their 30,5 cm SFL "Bär"; a full resin kit...item 35255. They've got some really slick kits and conversions of which a couple are on my "once I win the lottery" list.

To me it just looks like a Grille with a bigger gun and different superstructure.

(by the way, Trumpeter makes a pretty good Grille 17cm Geschutzwagen that retails in Aus at about $125, which is about US$80 or so)

Hey, if you look closely the bloke who made the Grille in the original post has put the tracks on the wrong way.

I dunno, nothing says "overloaded suspension" more than this pic. It's an awesome model, purely amazing yes, but it's just too fictional to work.

Maybe we can convince this guy to sign up for the "What If" campaign!

He would have modded this kit by trumpeter . I did the Grille version & the kit comes with crappy rubber tracks. Trumpeter makes separate track links for this kit though that are mint.

How do they get the ammo in the vehicle? That little hatch on the back looks like it would be a little small.

Or more likely built the resin kit that used to be available - see here
