Thanks Seb!

I know it will be difficult but I found a great way to pull it off without it looking flat and plain

I tried to paint a little Revell 1/72 King Tiger white with a handbrush. Funnily enough it didn't work, lol. Hope you have better luck James.

Hi James,
I've been working on mine - its a RAF Regt 2sqn example.
Tools are on it because no one would be stupid enough to steal them

James,
Its an awful kit, as are most AFV club modles, i'm struggling with a centurion Mk6 at the moment.( It wouldn't glue properly!)

Its nice that AFV included a Photto etched Exhaust shroud and Ally Barrel in the Scorpion and scimitar, but why couldn't they include the PE mesh for the grilles and photo etched Mudflaps???
Fit is diabolical.

Not impressed.

The fits can be a pain in the back side!, I was quiete disappointed witht eh standerd of the kit but its not all bad theyre some nice stuff in the kit. yes it was nice about the etch stuff i understand where your coming from but this is where aftermarket companies come in.

I broke my etched Exhaust shroud but luckily i managed to get a spare one from a very nice gentleman.

I have only built the Scimitar from AFV Club but i would not put the company down it is a good manufacture that produces some intereasting items which seem to be good quality!.

What glue are you using and are you preping your parts?

update shortly on the build!

Finally some Progress:

Istart with glueing the mud guards and Front lights on. The lights are wrong because i am hoping to paint it in the gulf with the later lights on so until i can change them will leave them on.

I left the right rear mud guard off so it was different but i still need to put the bracket back on where the mud quard bolts on

Then it was back onto the turret, I attached the smoke launchers and Two CIP panels for when it was used in the Gulf.

Any comments are ver welcome

Nice work bro, one thing; would they really need that many CIP'S?

Theres only two, either side of the turret and it would pritty logical to have one either side no?

Hi James,
Just usual prepping, emery paper and revell contacta glue.
I've filled the gap in the stowage bin and have started to paint it now,

Its not the kit its the Revell Contacta glue I had it and its Seriously shocking,
To be honest I would thorught it away.

I use poly cement you can get it in different size and variety I use one with a bursh which is really easy to put the glue where you want it..

Also if your painting the model before glueing the part wont stick properly.

Hi James
I have used Revell Contacta Glue for years and I have never had a problem with it, although on occasion I use some Locktite Super glueif the part really wont stick (or if i get annyoyed ). Thats just me. The build is coming along nicely, cant wait to see it with some paint!
Cheers

You should try the Defence Image Database but the Op Telic Scimitars all have LEP upgrades AFAIK. So SPIRE gunner's sight, revised intake grills, NBC intake(?) and additional bins.
