Hi everyone,I had an idea for a campaign that I think is pretty cool. The idea is that you model your ancestors who participated in any war. For example,my great uncle escaped from a prison camp in Italy, so I would model him as a figure,in a diorama etc. Figures, dioramas and vehicles are all accepted. Another example could be if your dad drove a tank than you could model his tank. Does everyone understand? Post any questions or thoughts here.
Thanks!

I have to ask my Dad what stuff they used during his service in 12. Mechanized Division. If I can find a matching kit I'd be interested.

I proposed this about 18 months ago. It didn't get much enthusiasm. I still like the idea and I'm in.

Maybe you could expand on this since not everyone has ancestors who fought in wars. My dad was a conscript in the Dutch Army in 1954. So maybe if you expand and include ancestors who served in the armed forces, more people could join.

What was his unit? Maybe I can find something, some time ago I did some digging into the Free French. I'd be happy to help.

Hello
Interesting idea, what sort of timeframe are you looking at for the build to start & finish as I've got a few builds on the go at the moment.
Granddad fought in the 1st world war & my Dad served with the RAF during the 50's.

hi guys,

How's May 2009-October 2009? I am new to campaigns and don't know too much about timeframes and related stuff.
If you don't like this time frame, tell me and I'll change it.

sounds like a great idea! unfortunatly i have nothing i could add to this campaig, as little is know about any member of my family who served in combat (Grandpa was a marine in the 50's but never faught, great uncle Louie was in the Arty, but no one knows anything about that...)

I will however ask around the family for info/ pics.

I wonder how many Herchels or Shumakers were sent to the Eastern front?

Hey beltfed,

It doesn't really matter if your grandpa saw action or not, you could model him in training, or learning how to use demolitions.
Just a suggestion,
M4A2Sherman
