Thankfully I got the set for $10 on the Buy/Sell/Trade forum here which was nice....
After that it's the IDV Tow conversion which I got at IMSS for about €28...
Cheers,
Sean

Holy mackerel... You're one big Humvee fan aren't you? Awesome collection!
+1! :O You're a Humvee God Kuba lol
Btw Kuba, for your IDF Humvee did you use Legend's after market conversion kit? Been wanting to make one but the Legend kit is made for Academy's 1:35 Humvee and it looks like crap, weird wheels & suspension. Wonder if it'll fit on Tamiya's M1025 Humvee?

First of all - thanks Guys a lot

Colin - yes, I did use Legend conversion and as a base an Academy's Humvee (without wheels, I used not-so-good AFV Club Aggresive Pattern wheels). Tamiya's model has differences in proportions and dimensions, so some changes would be necessary.

Roy, Sean - thanks for visiting
Yes, I'll be keeping this project alive. At the top of this page there are two pictures, one of them (Portuguese Humvee) is already done, second will be on my workbench tomorrow (it will be Tamiya's M1045 HMMWV TOW Carrier in winter camo from Cold Winter exercises, Norway 1987). And I'm about to buy M1151 conversion from Legend, so there is such possibility, that undercarriage made for M1045 will be used for M1151:)

However I'll be keeping an eye out for more of your models in the mean time to ease my pain

Roy - would it be a big problem for You to make the in-box of Legend's M1151?

I dont think building the M1151 should be too much of a problem for me. I was looking over the kit yesterday, its very impressive! There is alot of construction involved, lots of Resin and PE, the parts look clean enough and there was no sign of warping or bad molds at first look.
The kit is very accurate indeed, I did not realise there was so much detail on the inside as well as the outside. I am however debating whether to use the actual PE set in this kit for the turret blast sheilds. The PE here looks slightly too thin at first but I may be wrong so dont quote me. In a worst case scenario I might use the PE Turret parts as a stencil to cut out thicker PLASTIC sheet pieces.
Not to sound like I'm giving the the kit a "first look Review" it is a fantastic model, but I wouldn't recommend tackling it without a good bit of experience with resin and PE under your belt first
..looking at your fine modelling work kuba you should have no problems what so ever here anyway

Duh! Sorry, too early in the morning..... Just another one I have to get at some stage. Current plans are:
No 13: Calibre open top (wip)
No 14: IDF TOW (in stash)
No 15: Hard-top (on order)
No 16: M1151
No 17 IDF uparmored patrol car
No 18 IDF Ambulance
Not to mention any new Strykers and the M1117 when available. I'm gonna be divorced!

Dear Sean,
good that you are asking. I started this conversion few months ago and it is a real nightmare... actually it was, because now I am at the painting stage already

I started a little topic about this construction which you can see here... https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/136731&page=1
...but I have not updated it for long now

To answer your question, yes the conversion set is suppossed for Tamiya´s kit, but does not fit nor the Academy. Lot of parts had to be scratched.
Check the above mentioned forum in few day, I will add some more text and pictures.
Regards
Jiri

Jiri - waiting for Your updated pictures and of course for finished model
Sean - interesting plans
Here are mine (without mentioned above M1045 TOW Carrier):
1. M1151 UAH:

2. M998 with M40 Recoliess Gun 106 mm (prototype):

3. M1025 with Recon Motorcycle:

4. Ukrainian Armored Humvee from KFOR mission:

5. Humvee Scud Hunter:

6. Dumvee:

7. M997 Ambulance IDF:

8. Iraqi M1114 UAH:

An order of this list is accidental. As You can see all of my planned models require changes, additions and scratchbuilding, maybe I'll build one or two OOTB Humvees in the midtime. Huge plans, so... let's get it started

I had noticed and admired your creativity. I can only do those that are released as kits and/or AM conversions. My scratchbuilding skills are not up to major version conversions.
Jiri, I had been watching that thread with interest. The level of detail in your initial photos is outstanding. Please post an update!

I thought the same about my skills before I did my first conversion and then my first scratchbuilding. And it was easier than I had expected. So don't be affraid to build any Humvee You like

Could You post some more photos here? And have You got any pictures of original? Or is it a little Sci-fi?

Prototypes in the US maybe (and then most likely at the AM General factory), but vehicles in this configuration are used by Honduras and the Philippines. See here.
