Beautiful work, Beyond. Your attention to detail is phenomenal. Don't think that I'd have the patience or skill to attempt what you have done. Thanks for sharing you great build.

Thanks for your replies.
Really apreciate it.
Have made some progress with the antenna, and now it's finished (building).
Here some pics of the result:
And this is the antenna, ready to be painted:
If you see anything that needs some attention, please let me know.
I'll try to fix it then

Here some pics of the latest progress
A new ladder was made, and a tripod (have just been told this is the top of the antenna
So I guess I'll have to make a new one, to put on top of the antenna
The ladder holders
And here are the hooks mounted under the bumper, and a towing hook has been scratched.
One can also see the Opel emblem on the hood.
Here you can see the turning signals on the side(s) of the "kofferaufbau"
That's all folks

Looks like I made a mistake with the antenna
It has been pointed out to me on another forum, that this should be the top of the antenna:

More scratchwork

So, I've taken some time to make the top of the antenna.
Aftre a mistake, and the help of Mr. Murphy ? Yes his help, cause at the moment that I had all the pieces together to assemble them, a small piece, wich was the most time consuming to make, just snapped out of my tweezers...
Because of that, I went to take a look at the forums, and someone pointed me at the antenna that I'd made before (the tripod), that it had to be this one, but with four legs...
So I started again, and this is the result
So I'll guess this will be the final result....
Give me your honest opinions, please...

So, dear modellers,
I believe I have finished building on this Opel Blitz.
For those who doubt this is 1/72 :
What do you guys think?
(This is still a dryfit, so I'll have easy acces for painting.)
Just two questions I'd like to ask:
* Should I leave the bike and other stuff on top of the vehicle? Or should I go without?
* And do you think I should make a spot light to mount on the cabine?
Grtz,

Wonderful! Al you have to do now is paint “The Mystery Machine” on both sides and... oops, sorry, got carried away
More seriously this is amazing! The level of details is incredible.
I do look forward to seeing it painted - or better: a paint in progress series of pics?
Thanks for sharing
cheers

Hi all,
I have made my decision about the two questions I had....
There will be no bike and stuff on the roof.
But I have made a spot light
Will post some pics soon.
C-y'all in a little while

oh this is looking grrrrrrreat!
The side mirror is a beauty! (now, that is a sentence one doesn’t use every day)
Do you have any ref on the colours of the antenna? I am curious about its looks - must be seen by radio techs at work, but invisible to enemy aircraft/tank. Camouflage green?
more more!

Before the painting progress will start , am I in a dilemma...
I miss something on the roof...
There are 2 possibilities that I'm thinking of...
First one is the well known triangle mounted on the roofs of the Blitz-trucks, and the second is a kind of "generator":
What do you guys think?

The generator doesn't look very sexy - it’s just a box, more or less. I think it would kill the line of the truck and distract attention from the antenna and all the wonderful details you created.
I’d go with the triangle - plus I can’t imagine a Rolls without its “spirit of ecstasy”. I know some late blitzes did not have this triangle, I’m taking design, not historical here.
Cheers!

Hi there,
Today I've taken some time to scratch me a generator...
This is NOT a historicaly replica, I have used my imagination, so this is my own interpretation....
But I do would like your opinions...
For myself, I do like it, it's something different (especually in this scale..)
Enough blablabla,
Let me hear what you all think

Hi everybody
Today I had my first real experience with the airbrush...The AB I have is a Badger 360.
After getting a little used to it, I have given a layer of semi gloss black, instead of a primer:
As can be clearly seen, a lot of gluemarks..
Then followed a mix of of the paints shown on the first pic:
Then started the camo with redbrouwn:
Where I had the first mistakes..:
Then a mix of the greens shown on the next picture:
Again with some mistakes, these I still have to fix...
All tips and comments are welcome.......

Thanx, Trackpads.
I have started to paint some details
Because I don't have decals to fit this model, I have tried to paint the markings
It looks a bit rough, but it's ok in real size...I think
So, that's it for the moment

Beyond, today's digital cameras can be a curse, If a person takes a close-up of their face it looks like the surface of the moon. You've done a superb job considering the scale and what you were working with. Just remember that there is what is called the "scale effect." Most viewers will at best look at your creation at a minimal distance of one foot (.3 metres). That equates to them viewing the real object at 72 feet ( 22 metres) distant. Again, wonderful and creative job.
Cheers,
tread_geek
