Thanx for your reactions
Got some new pics of the Blitz, as is today.
What has changed?
Wel, I sprayed on a layer of varnish as a base for the washes and decals.
Followed by a wash with yellow ochre oils.
Have found some decals in my decal-scrapbox wich look a bit like the ones I needed...
Only the L of the Lehr has to be painted again...
And yes, I have seen that the antenna is not so straight, I'll try to fix that later on...
More to do, but first it has to dry a bit
Here the pics:
As usual, give me your comments please
Grtz,

Hello all,
Last few days been trying to put on a decent wash...
Everything went good, untill the last part........
D*mned, a big stain on the roof....
It was as if I was blending all the colours with the wash.
My thoughts is that I had not sprayed enough varnish on that spot...
Today I have checked it again, and all I could think of to do, was to use some piments to cover it up...
The result can be seen on the following pics
Another thing I have done today, was changing the cables from the antenna.
I have cutt them away and replaced them with nylon threads from some stockings...
Here then the pics of the Funkwagen:
and here a close up of the new wires:
Only the license plates to fix....
So, what do you think? Putt on some matt varnish and consider it finished??
Grtz,

Here are the final pictures from my Opel Blitz Funkwagen Kfz305 (1/72)
Finally a finished model after +-10 years of non active modelling, except for reading mags and learn (theoreticly) some tips and trucs.
I had a lot of fun making this model.
Thanx to everybody who helped me with advice and tips
Reactions are more than welcome....

Others have said it before but your efforts are nothing short of brilliant. Your project has been an inspiration to many and makes me consider resurrecting some of my ancient and damaged builds. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Jan

Hey Tread_geek,
Glad to hear you like the model, and I'm very pleased to hear that you are considdering to do the same with some of your old models
I hope I have the same effect on others, cause old models are a perfect subject to learn new methods of modelling (and cheap too ), and it's nice to see your own efforts are creating a better model than before....
Thanx

Beyond,
Your efforts and obvious patience have resulted in an outstanding build! Why you are not already running into the night screaming is . . . pardon the pun, beyond me? Like Karl mentioned in an earlier post I wasn't sure about what you were going to do with all of those parts when you first opened your post. Curiosity brought me back to see what you had done and it sure was well worth it!!! Best Opel Blitz, kofferaufbau, funkwagen in any scale that I have seen to date.
Keep up the excellent work. Nice build log complete with some very good closeup pics.
