I'm liking the looks of this vehicle. Looks awesome! This may have been answered before but are you adding camo to the grey?

Thans Jim!
Rich, there is already camo!! one wheel has whitewash, and the other wheel has camo and whitewash!
but for the entire body , nope, nope nope, there wre a lot of choices to do dunkelgelb, with the rotbraun and dunkelgrun overspray, but im not a great fan of the 43 onwards tritone scheme, i could put a whiewash on, but really like the way this is going with standard panzergrau.
i dotn even think i will be weatherng this too much, i like the "sheen" it has on the running gear, i will possibly pigment it slightly tho.
earlier i chipped the fenders and rear deck with tamiya neteral grey, and my own special mix brown, that looks a lot like chocolate
tomorrow i will paint up the rear deck covers (lol) and stick them down,
but its really shaping up!
soon it wil be time to tackle the AFV club pak 40 ya get with it

Nice score on the backstage passes...and your panzer gray is coming along nicely too James! The explanation on the smiley and the other doodles made me smile...always great to see a modeler who enjoys his work.

Hello, James !
Very interesting building - it is unusual to observe, how you collect model and there and then it paint, draw scratches and even paste decal ! At you perfectly well it turns out - I like to observe it ! I see for the first time such way of building of model !

Good progress James. I´ll never understand how folks can paint, weather and add decals as they go along. The interior I get, but it looks weird to see the bottom built, weathered and with decals, yet the gun barrell is sitting unpainted on top.
Enjoy the metallica concert. They cancelled here in Stockholm, but will play again in May ... James got food poisioning. Ive seen them so many times since 1988 Dublin, including the Monsters of Rock in 1991 Donnington, and the release party for the Load album in Sweden 98/99. They never fail to impress ... definatly one of the best live bands around today.

Nice work James. Keep it going. Closing in on the finish line. I am not much of a HM fan but enjoy your concert. I hope you still have your hearing afterward. Cheers.

hey guys, i guess i paint and weather the way i do due to the fact i brush paint, and cant stand seeing a completely "clean" finish, i love dong sections also, it gives me goals to work towards,
metallica were good, although i think they are tired.

James, don't do things like that to me... They were supposed to play two concerts in Poland this year but the concert hall where the concert were supposed to be did not agree on the dates . I've seen them three times already and I even have Hetfield's guitar pick from last gig...
Your Marder looks really good so far. I like the look of the surface and weathering.

hey mate.
the backstage bit was my friends speculation
the vip bit was a bit false too, it just meant no queing.
but great first metallica gig, althogh hetty boy is loosing his voice,
they pulled out some rare 'uns in the setlist, AJFa and harvester, overkill, fight fire, sad but true was a cracker, bit dissapointed that there was no fade 2 , there was quite unusual choice, they bought out the outlaw torn from the load album, everyone kept asking me what it was machine head were supporting, and they sounded awful, their best song aswell, as a cover of maidens hallowed be thy name. and they didnt ruin it with screaming
this is the proper setlist from metontour
Setlist: That Was Just Your Life
The End Of The Line
Harvester Of Sorrow
...And Justice for All
One
Broken, Beat And Scarred
My Apocalypse
Sad But True
The Outlaw Torn
The Judas Kiss
The Day That Never Comes
Master Of Puppets
Fight Fire With Fire
Nothing Else Matters
Enter Sandman
- - - - - - - -
Overkill
Hit The Lights
Seek and Destroy
on topic
i thgink the small areas of colour really bring life into it now!

starts
It's a pitty with your VIP pass...
I'm not surprised with lack of fade to black... James may have some bad memories with this one after '92 tour ... Anyway, I see that the set was Death Magnetic focused.
BTW, you really think that Hallowed be thy name cover is MH's best? You must be kidding! What about Davidian? I broke my tooth during this song on one of their gigs (Just kidding - I simply don't like Iron Maiden, one likes whatever one wants and no discussion about it).
ends
Your marder looks better and better every time I step by to see what's happening.
It looks that Tristar moulds are quite good. Details look very nice.

James, congrats on the Metallica passes. Im going to see Motley Crue this summer, and saw Motorhead, Heaven and Hell (Black Sabbath minus Ozzy and Bill Ward), along with Judas Priest last summer. Metal masters toar kicked ___!!
Nice Marder too. Tristars look tough but you seem to be tackling it very well. I like the paint chips on the body and the wheels are my favorite, they add such a spark to the kit. And, once its all weathered up, you would have no idea it was brush painted!
And you said you were going to quit modeling.......

jon that gig sounds great, do heaven & hell cover the sab classics?
hope motley crue are great too,
im pleased with the chipping, its my first real attempt at dual layer chipping,
with the wheels, i needed something to make the build look more interesting, as well as keep me focused on the running gear, its usually what makes or breaks a build.
i tried to keep it within the boundaries of accuaracy, and reality, whislt keeping a fair balance on either side, the explanation for some parts being primer red, is the need to have got this vehicle out onto the field asap, obvioulsy the whitewashed units have been salvaged off of a few other 38(t) vehicles, the whitewash with the yellowy underneath is a slight hint at the vehicle series past, being a slight representation of the czech 3 tone colours. quit, me, never!

The marder looks great. The rust looks quite realistic. All you need to know is i thinks its brill Keep the good work up though, no slipping
Don't want that metallica getting to u too much
