(Black Sabbath minus Ozzy

Can you really call it Black Sabbath without Ozzie?

Of course you can. Sbbath without Ozzy had some great hits like "Children of the Sea," "Heaven and Hell," and "Neon Knights." All thanks to Ronnie James Dio, a great front man and vocalist. However, the former Black Sabbath of the 80's (i.e. with Dio) is now called Heaven and Hell.

Great photo. for details, but also it was nicely composed. If find myself scanning the horizon line for the enemy.

What I also find interesting is the lack of sag in the track....is this normal for the 38T-based AFV's? I would have expected more sag.

It would depend on the load(force) on the tracks at the time. It may well be this is on a hill facing upwards and the drive sprocket has been pulling the track over it as the vehicle moves up it creating tension as opposed to say running along level ground, with less effort.

I did post some links to you tube a while back which showed various tanks moving around and you could quite clearly see the different stresses on the track and how it affected sag but I can't find them at the moment.

Go to You tube and do a search you should find some. One interesting one was of a Jagdpanther being moved around at the Tank Museum Bovington. In any case you'll have a chance to waste hours "researching"

Here ya go found it.

Watch the track behaviour as he turns the Jagdpanther to get in the compound.

Plenty more on the site.

Ha ha! Well, IMHO, 'researching' is never a waste of time.

Thanks for posting the link Alan....especially as I love the Jagdpanther!

mornin all,
bad news, i bought a matt varnish , and it leaves a sheen, so there will be no turret markings, as they are still bloody shiny!
afternoon all (juts gone 12.00)

@Wes, just take your time, go real slow and be extra careful, practise with different amounts of paint on the brush, and different consistancies, Ps you spelt Metallica wrong
lol

@T4B, seconded i spent a good while trawling through the related sites aswell,

@Jon, home stretch now, i ahve to find my spare Dml infantry sprues for random junk to lay around the deck

Hey James nice build so far - you must have caught Machine Head on a bad day as they played here opening for Slipknott last year and they rocked! As for Metallica , give the Het a break hes no spring chicken anymore and anyones voice would be on the way out after so many years of gigging. Both the times ive seen them they always chuck in a few strange songs , like Harvester or Bleeding me or a Ramones cover its just how they roll. If you want to catch a bunch of geezers that can tear it up as much as when they were 20 go check out Slayer!

hey mate.
the backstage bit was my friends speculation
the vip bit was a bit false too, it just meant no queing.
but great first metallica gig, althogh hetty boy is loosing his voice,
they pulled out some rare 'uns in the setlist, AJFa and harvester, overkill, fight fire, sad but true was a cracker, bit dissapointed that there was no fade 2 , there was quite unusual choice, they bought out the outlaw torn from the load album, everyone kept asking me what it was machine head were supporting, and they sounded awful, their best song aswell, as a cover of maidens hallowed be thy name. and they didnt ruin it with screaming

this is the proper setlist from metontour
Setlist: That Was Just Your Life
The End Of The Line
Harvester Of Sorrow
...And Justice for All
One
Broken, Beat And Scarred
My Apocalypse
Sad But True
The Outlaw Torn
The Judas Kiss
The Day That Never Comes
Master Of Puppets
Fight Fire With Fire
Nothing Else Matters
Enter Sandman
- - - - - - - -
Overkill
Hit The Lights
Seek and Destroy

i thgink the small areas of colour really bring life into it now!

Looking great! Thanks for posting all of this. You have opened my eyes to a new way of modelling, doing it part by part including painting and weathering at each stage. I would have been worried that the finish may be inconsistent and that it would not look unified, but you have pulled it off beautifully.

I would guess it takes much more planning than normal building like this but the results speak for themselves.
