Superb review, Pat. Very thoughtful and detailed. Anyone thinking about purchasing this kit has a real look at it and a chance to make an informed decision.

Hi pat,
Thanks for the review. I do hope Roden do a few more 1/35 vehicles, particularly some British trucks
Looks like a pretty decent kit.

looks like a very nice kit, is it based on the same vehicle as the Resicast resin one? and if so it will be interesting to see how they compare
cheers

Nice review Pat.
My kit arrived last night, and a quick look-see, I agree with the review.
A little TLC, replace a few misplaced rivets----- for the counters-----
and after market weapons will give a pretty nice looking model.
I'm sure there will be after market updates and decals for this one.

Hi Pat, great review, very helpful. I will be buying this kit, good news about the quality.
To answer your question in the review about the headlights - yes, MV Lenses make lenses to fit the approx 7mm headlights. Part #402 is 6.73mm, or part # 403, 414, 415 are 7.14mm.

Thanks for the comments, There's a great video on youtube showing the RR in action and as a bonus there's a very nice soundtrack that kicks in at 00.52. The car joyriding around O Connel St in Dublin 1919 and intimidating the public is the 1914 version.

Some great shots towards the end of A/Cs in the middle east with a ring mounted to the turret with a lewis gun fixed to it.
Keith.
No the Resicast one is the 1914 which was on an earlier chassis and had some other differences including a lower turret, flat fenders and spoked wheels. It wouldn't be too difficult to backdate this version to 1914 if you could get your hands on spoked wheels.
Matt thanks for the info on the lenses I'll try to get my hands on them.

Greetings all;
The good folk at Roden sent me one as well. So naturally I am interested in using it in a diorama. I am thinking about backdating it to a modified 1914 version from about 1918. In the mean time I came across this over at the Roden site.
Note the Vickers MG is not bored out. If it was a safety cap there should be a small chain hanging from the flash suppressor. Imagine having one of these doing sentry duty on an airfield, in a convoy or passing by a nosed over aircraft.

Word of caution on the instructions. Step 1 - 3, Do yourself a favor and unite the basic engine halves before adding the generator, magnetos, carburetor, distributor cap, plumbing, water and oil pumps. There should be a solid foundation first rather than trying to align the engine halves after everything is attached externally.
