Here's what's taking up my time. Inspired by the Accurate Armour Super Pershing kit. Lots of Evergreen sheet, rod, brass sheet, the excellent Calibre35 clear commander's cupola, VP .50 cal, TMD stowage locker handles, bits of ABER here and there. Will eventually use the WW2 Productions tracks.
The eventual goal is to depict the SP just before the end of hostilities in Europe.

Man, that looks awsome! What is the pink/grey covering the turret? Is it some form of texture product?

Are you sure you linked to the images correctly? I cannot see them, and if i go straight to the link I only get a blank page (no errors though!)

Hi Roy ...,everytime I see pictures of your Super Pershing ,mine gets put further back on my to do list ..lol...Looks great!!..I have a few questions ...the side armor on the turret ...when was that added?? I have pictures of the S-P with just the front plate over the Mantlet. Those kit fenders have to be replaced completely..how wide are they?I'm going to use the old MB conversion for my dragon Pershing and I hope to get half the results you have and I'd be happy. Can't wait to see yours finished.

Okay, so what's the secret to seeing these pics? Some here say your model looks awesome, and others like me, just see the dreaded red X?

RedX's here.
It might be because the URL's contain upper-case chars and IE don't like 'em? Those who can see the pics, are you using other browsers?

To Richard, thebear:
Belton Cooper, author of "Death Traps", also served as the officer in charge of the up-armoring of the the T26E4. He said that initially, they only put on the mantlet and nose armor. This is the picture in the Squadron Signal Pershing In Action book. However, once they took it out for some preliminary trials, it was quickly noted that the extra mantlet armor brought an incredible imbalance to the turret traverse and elevation mechanisms. They had to improvise by adding the "batwing" armor and another slab welded to the each batwing to provide the right counterbalance. Once in place, the crew felt it worked very well.
John Irwin, author of "Another River, Another Town" actually served as the gunner for the last crew that manned the SP. He remarked that operating its turret, gun and driving the T26E4 was no more difficult than the M4A3 HVSS that he originally fought in. He felt that the turret and gun controls brought targets to bear just as easily as his earlier 76mm.
The width of the fenders should extend about 1mm outside the width of the storage lockers. I haven't looked at my DML kit but it shouldn't be that difficult to manage. I completely cut off the fenders from the Tamiya kit (they were molded onto the side hull). Then, I just used a sheets of .010 styrene for the fender beneath the lockers. In actuality, it was sheet metal with a small lip hanging downwards. I accepted the .010 thickness to replicate the lip. I fabricated the rear and front fenders from sheet brass because I knew I couldn't fudge the scale thickness here. Very easy to do. I embossed them with a ball point pen. I used the kit fenders as templates.
Other things to note: I don't know what's in the MB conversion but make sure that you correctly replicate the features of the turret which was originally a T26E1 turret. It had the split-loader's hatch w/.50 MG mount. There was no shell ejection hatch. Also note the different spare track storage. Include the right edge lift ring, too. I don't recall if the DML turret has the canvas mantlet cover bracket or not. Tamiya's did not so I had to add it.
The best reference is Hunnicutt's "Pershing" book. Get it from inter-library loan. Very easy to obtain.
To brandydoguk: It's a mixture of Bondo and Mr. Surfacer 500. That was okay. Will have to experiment later.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I'm working on the WW2 Productions resin tracks and some more brass brackets for the rear fenders and some stowage.
