http://www.sembado.com/photo/48th_SHS/3.html Diorama Texture Paint?
I guess that this is a product which could be reasonably be created using something like Pelikan Plaka... Don't think Mig Productions are going to be panicking any time soon?

Oh gawds
Seems they feel the need to bottle and excessively price something that can be easily made/obtained by the rudimentary dioramist...

It could be a very useful product, although used not exactly the way Tamiya intended it to be used. I wonder how fine texture the "dirt" and "sand" paints create - if it's fine enough then they may be a quick and easy solution to create non-slip coating on modern armor models!

Funny - new to Tamiya, but not a new idea. I've seen similar paint products from smaller companies.

I guess I'm the only one that fails to see what's so unusual about this product...

None of these companies produce 'instant terrain' like this. I use the Vallejo stone texture on buildings for example but there's a BIG difference to these (which are Mediums with sand or gravel) to a paint with grass added...

There are 4 products there, only 1 is this grass texture, which is admittedly intriguing but by no means bizarre.
I expect we'll see these products featured in a Tamiya news report along with the other products from this show?

I suppose some airbrushing and colour variations to the grass could make it look a little less vomit like. I think that particular shade of green is causing the snickers.

Ooohh... a challenge?
Well, unless someone else writes it (whose Japanese is better than mine) there won't be any report. Firstly, there is very little than hasn't already come out as previous 'snippets'. Secondly, i'm waiting for the Press Release from Tamiya (lol) which is not terribly probable as the 'Web doesn't exist for them...
So, no, there won't be a News Report - life's too short and other companies are MUCH more interested in publicizing their releases...

If this was a Dragon product would it get ripped in the same way? I do not think so.
Most of us credit Dragon with the business acumen NOT to do something like this.
Save your breath. They sure as hell ain't listening!

This happened Darren
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/139638&page=1 Impartial? No, I didn't have to link the Tamiya snippet or the images from the Japanese Show either. Nor did I have to look for images of the Matilda either...

Darren, trust me, if you've spent as much time as I have trying to get thru the Maginot Line which is Tamiya (Europe, U.S.A. or Japan) you probably wouldn't be that impressed with them either.
If you'd seen the cut-offs they put in place at (Trade/Press) events like Nuremberg - I doubt you'd be worrying too much about saying (mildly) nasty things about them. Even the bricks that have been thrown in my direction by DML's pet poodle, show that companies like Dragon are damned aware of what's being said and talked about.
Tamiya are a monolith who don't give a monkey's about their plastic kit range and throw a few crumbs to the modeler every year - and people are STILL grateful? ..

Interesting..... very interesting Dr. Watson,
I'll have to search out this grass substance and try it.

No challenge. A simple question as to whether we will see the new releases of a company who's products have helped in the creation of a million dollar (be it in a single or multiple fiscal period) support industry featured in a press release on Kitmaker. You have answered my question though. Thank you.
