Bruce:
If I must state that the nurse is ugly then she is worth her weight in gold. From my past experience the pretty nurses were either too good to do their work or they were incompetent. Every good or great nurse that I had taking care of me or the ward that I was in was just a regular type person (mom type) they were wonderful. Great to have you back.

Hello Robert,
My biggest problem was waking up and seeing that Nurse, It almost made me have a heart attack. I always had get luck with the cute ones, They would let me do just about anything with them. .
But you are right that the Nurses were great, Dedicated and very kind to me during my stay. It was just the older ones always gave me me the baths, Give me a Cute one every time for that bath. Maybe it was the pain meds that effected me, I could not see and think very well. I just love that morphine pump, One bit of pain, Push the button and float for a few hours.
With the new scars I am now a complete jig saw puzzle with just a few missing pieces( OK a lot of missing pieces)
Thanks for your info,
Cheers,
Bruce
I still think that I should get half of the scrape value for all of the old lead and any of the other metal they took out. It should be worth a dollar or two.

Nice, this talking about nurses.... I have a visit scheduled for the 16th of december. Then the airways in the top of my nose will be made wider and they will make holes to connect the cavities in my face and nose. This way I should be freed from the constant trouble in my head.... fysically at least....

As for my progress, I have done quite some work on the figures and I focussed on the accessoires, too!
Here's a nice collection of some of them;

Here's a closeup of the ammunitionpile;

I got my inspiration from this photo, taken at the eastern front;

which shows another feature I am planning to use in the dio; an overhead camouflagenet on poles.

well? What do you think?

Thanks for the comments, Jim and Bruce. I appreciate it. You are perfectly right about the dash board and steering wheel. I will fix that.

Regarding the dust, I might add more dust later when the Kubelwagen is included in a diorama with a Bf 109. Any additional weathering I will use the "blend" the car into the diorama.

Ron- I think you're off to a magnificent start! Superb sandbags and emplacement. great gun commander figure.Super weathering so far.Your reference photo illustrates what I've wanted from figure makers for a long time...........shirtless w/shorts or trousers,Allied or Axis,Europe or Pacific,all poses imaginable. They are there in soooo many historic photos,but so few are kitted. Why?
Please keep us informed in a photogenic manner........

I finally finished my Sherman Mk. III. I've been watching the exceptional builds roll in, and I'm happy I met the campaign deadline. There were a lot of firsts for me with this build, including a camo pattern using putty (although I know the pattern isn't quite right), dust with pigments, and a base (as simple as it might be). I had some trouble spots with the kit - the PE fenders and a major gap at the top of the transmission housing are the most obvious. I also sprayed the primer layer a bit too thick in places and fubared the matte coat on the front hull. This was my second attempt at both the oil dot method and an oil wash. I'm still relatively young with my skills, but I like to build on what I have done and try new things with each model. I received some very good tips from AlanL and Jeeprider on the last build I posted, which I've been working on. I appreciate any and all constructive criticism, so let me know if you see anything that I can work on for my next kit. It's been fun participating in this campaign, although I apologize for not posting progress pictures. Thanks! Michael

Micheal,thats exactly what its all about right there!..having fun, socializing with other modellers,learning new things,and trying new things ....you stretched your comfort levels alot on this build and it was worth it...she looks good!...everyone runs into glitches now and then....did you consider a pinwash to bring out some of the raised details?...I really think you did a good job on it!

Hi folks, hope everyone is well.
This is my submission to the campaign, the old Tamiya Semovente.
Our kitten ran off with the gun assembly during construction so it has taken longer than anticipated to complete.

@ Keith: Nice job even if the kitten ran off with some parts, be sure to submit photos of what the kitten builds with all of those hidden items. Was the kit an easy build, it seems that Tamiya's kits are a relaxing build after those that give you problems.

Hey Keith I do not see any wayward parts in the box with the kitty. Where did they go?

Thanks for the comments, guys!

Great Sherman you got there, Michael! The colours and the wwathering really work this way.
You did do a good job on this old kit, Keith. Cute kitty, too!

I am almost done with my entry. All I need to do is paint 1 more figure, redo the camo-netting and weather all some more.
Here's my progress so far;
The base itself;

I changed the fabric ropes for thin, twisted copperwire for more rigidity. Detail of the new ropes;

The accessoires such as ammostock and breakfast"table";
I made the can by cutting of a piece of sprue, hollowing it and adding a small plastic disk.

The the figures;
First the officer, called Otto Offizier. Note the coffeemug on the wheel. I still need to add a drop of "coffee";

then the gunner, Kanonen Karl;

The loader, Granaten Gustav;

Another crewmember, Wasser Willy. I wanted to do something completely different with this one, so I added a bucket, in which he is pouring water. On the sandbagwall I will place a small mirror, a towel and some shavinggear, so he will look spic and span, befor entering battle!
The water I made by heating an old airbrushcap, those small, transparent tubes, causing it to deform. As a bonus there appeared loads of small bubbles in the plastic, so it does look like water.

I hope to finish the rest today or tomorrow.....

Hello Jim,
I am doing a cruiser Mk 1 / 2 in 1/48th scale. It is a very easy build except the tracks, They come in different lengths and single parts. You have to match and glue them on, It is just a pain to do them. I like the old rubber band tracks then the other ones.
Cheers,
Bruce
