Here's the M88 that I built for my Marine buddy. He wanted it very new looking and clean so there's no weathering to speak of, just a very light drybrush to highlight the details....it's very subtly so doesn't show too good in the photos.

Excallent job. I like it. The subdtle deal does look good. I like the attention to detail - the lights, the 50cal etc.

Good deal.

Awesome model...If I weren't building WW2 armor I would have to get me one of these :-)

The display stand looks good with the model...have you considered putting a plaque on it?

Grifter

Really good looking vehicle dude And I`m sure the one you have built it for is really proud to have this on his shelfes. I like the camo job you did and the really light airbrushing. Further you have took really great care of the small details as was mentioned before. I also like the way you have displayed it great job

Greg:

This M88 is something to be proud of. Very nice build ---and if your friend likes it, and you like it,--- you've hit the home run. Congrats on a good looking effort.

Wow, thanks guys!! I'm glad you all enjoyed seeing it.
Yes, I did consider a plaque for the base but in the end my girlfriend (his sister) and I decided against it since he knows what it is and it's not accurate to a specific vehicle.

Is that PE on the lilght guards?

It certainly is......I broke one of the plastic pieces and the other was partially broken in the box...which I ended up breaking all the way.....so a member of my local modeling club sold me a Vietnam version with the PE light guards. I also had to pirate the machine gun as the original's barrel handle was broken off.

Good work Gritter, the only thing that does not 100% covinces me is the tall grass that to me looks a bit too much even...

A very fine looking kit, but only a Marine would want it spit shined. In all my years, I never saw one that clean even after washrack. Plan to build one of those evetually.

Wow this looks awesome. There is something strange about a clean piece of armor. It looks...well...so clean. It asks to be smothered with dirt. #:-)

Most excellent Grifter! This has to be one of the coolest modern vehicles around. You have made a really fine model and Im 100% sure you friend is going to be "over the moon" with this one. Love all the details and the camo.
Have you used the right amount of "ropes" for the A-frame. There doesnt seem to be a lot of slack rope on the vehicle, or did you shorten it slighly for display purposes?

At this moment in time I am building 2 of these. AFVs with indy tracks M88A1 and also Revells M88A1G which has about 3 small extra sprues and extra PE. I want to display one with the A-frame up and the other with the A-frame down, but have been thinking how to avoid all the slack steel rope. Any other tips you may have would be handy also!
