My 13 year old daughter, Erin, built this Burango 1/24th scale Freelander Land Rover. She built it without any help from the old man :-) It is a metal kit, snap and screw together with decals.

That's her in the upper left Hard to belive someone that cute is related to me #:-)

Soon she shall be doing Armor kits #:-)

She enjoyed this kit, but I will soon help her with a glue and paint kit (maybe Armor?) #:-)

She takes after me yanno. #:-)

She really did do a beautiful job. Her first try! And she's interested in doing more with her old man and old lady. This ought to be a blast!

Great Model! Your daughter did a wonderful job on it. Helping young people learn and understand the joy of modeling is a great thing. Keep encouraging her to build.

Good work there.

Ill guess the absence of the ol man only helped.

I often wonder why there arent more females building models? Is it because of the military content or the derivation from toy soldiers?

I notice that the one that build and paint usually places fairly well on competitions. Well above their percentage share. Most popular among women seems cars, aircraft, figures, ships and tanks. In that order.

Being a bit biased Id like to think that women in general apriciate the aspects of the hobby more than us men.

Miss El Diablo Jr. aka Erin

Very impressive my young lady. You have a great future ahead as it is evident you have already mastered some sound construction techniques with your model shown here. Ma and Pa El Diablo should be proud!

Congrats Erin on a fine model!!

ps: In 3 more years you can be driving one of these!!!!
