FINALLY!! After working on this model since mid-January I have finished. This is the ICM T-35 kit with Friulmodel tracks, Eduard PE, and Jordi Rubio barrels. It is painted with a base coat of Model Master IJA Green. I then airbrushed Tamiya white over the base and used the Mrosko (sp?) approach to make it come up in places. I used Humbrol enamels on the running gear and details (machine guns, tools, etc.). Then I did a wash using Windsor & Newton raw umber. Finally, I used artist pastels and graphite to dirty things up and highlight the worn areas on the tracks.
I would like to thank Tim (tankshack) for all his help and Dave (SS-74) and Steve (Octopus) for all of their motivation to keep going when the project hit snags along the way.

That's one mean-looking beast Adam! The whitewash looks faded and worn, scratches and dents are just right, and the rust makes it look like it's gone through a few months of rough weather. Pose it beside the BT-5

Lord Avukich!!!! Finally!!!!! :-)
This is one fine looking T35, your usual beautiful finish, the rust added a lot to the model, and this is looking real good. I am happy to be part of this great groupie. Good work! How's the TK3 by the way?

Man that thing is ugly #:-)
But what a paintjob, nice work, very nice work.
If you could make some pictures under a better light then I see a OnDisplay here.

Marvellous!
As said, the beast is ugly, but what a paint job!
It looks a kind of dificult model to build, and for what I know by these westerns models, the fit probably sucks...
Great job...
Cheers (++)

What a beautiful model. I think your weathering is outstanding, and your tracks are perfect. Congrats on a gorgeous looking project.

you should consider writing a feature on what you did, pass on some of your skills to the rest of us .

Let me be the first to say - CONGRATS #:-)
The model looks awesome.
I have seen this model from the "earliest" days and I can tell all of you, this guy has made a very, very nice model.
I really like the overall "feel" of the finish... the white wash is all scratched and scraped... the mud on the suspension and the general weathering looks great too.

Thanks everyone for your comments.
Selrach -- Here is the process I used for the tracks: 1) Primed with Mr. Surfacer 1000; 2) Painted with a mixture of 70% Humbrol Dark Earth and 30% Humbrol Flat Black; 3) Washed with Windsor & Newton Raw Umber; 4) Used graphite on the worn areas.
Paulo -- Actually this kit isn't that bad in the fit department. It has its problems, but compared to other Eastern European kits I've built it was very nice. What made this a hard build was trying to accurize it. There were a lot of seams to fill, rivets that were sanded off and had to be replaced, things that needed scratch-built, and the tracks weren't handed as they were supposed to be so I had to use my punch and die set to create a track pin for every link on the left-hand side of the tank. Also, it is amazing how much of a pain it was to accomplish that cast-in star on the main turret's roof (many many coats of Mr. Surfacer 500). All of that took a considerable amount of time. Besides all of that, this was my first time trying this technique for white washing and it was certainly a learning experience.

Terrific job there Adam. Everything looks very well blended. I like the wintered-n-worn look you created.
It sure is one heck of a tank those Reds made back then, ehh?!
Any thoughts on writing us an article on her build?...hint, hint...

Thanks for the compliments Steve, Dave, Ken, and everyone else.
Actually Ken, I had been thinking about writing up a comprehensive article on the T-35. I did quite a bit of research throughout the course of this project and had been thinking about compiling it as well as my experiences with the ICM kit and the AM products I used as well as a discussion of the Azimut T-35 1939 version conversion kit that I bought and what a modeler would need to do to make an accurate model with said conversion. It will take some time to write as there is a lot of information that needs cohesively put together, but I just may start doing it before too long.
