Hello friends,
This is the kit I am working on now, Tamiya's French civilian Citroën Traction Avant 11CV.
It's an easy one to build (not that many parts), and with some extra detailing I am sure a nice car can be the result.
Decals : a couple of German military versions, French army or civilian.
I have decided to make a civilian car, in a black color and with some nice chrome parts.
A dry fit of some of the parts :
A de-greasing bath :
Painting started :
Cheers !

Guys, this kit is so much fun, I enjoy every minute working on it !
I have started airbrushing light colors on the interior parts, seats, door panels etc...
My goal is to make a bright interior that contrasts with the gloss black of the body. Light tones make details inside more visible so more attractive to look at.
This stage isn't done yet !
Cheers my friends ! Try this one too, it's something completely different !!!

Hello again friends,
The interior has received more light and bright tones.
The dash board has a glossy beige finish now, it adds more life to the interior I think.
The left door will be attached opened, so this part needs lighter tones too.
Still a lot to do, but oh this is fun !

Hello guys !
I've added a blanket made of Milliput and tomorrow I start painting it. I want more color to add life to it. This can help I think.
Cheers you Citroën maniacs !

Painting the leather of the car seats.
Hi Guy
Are you sure the French TA could be fitted with leather seats ? I know that the British-built TA had them but I'm not sure at all they were available for the French model...

Hey Frenchy, thank you for your reply. I'm not sure it had leather seats, but I have a couple of reference photos showing brown leather seats. So I started painting them this way, I can't garantee the historical accuracy though.
I'm not sure of the type of TA but I liked this appearance :

Man, that gearshift looks weird!!
And this is a 1/35 vehicle, very nicely done interior. I've got a couple 1/24 cars, DTM-racers, and that already was fiddly work with the paintbrush.
Looking forward to seeing the high-gloss black coat!!

Herbert, thank you for your reaction. The painting of the interior goes quite easy in fact.
I have another picture, the steering wheel is glued in place.

Looking at your new kits, there is a Flak Scheinwerfer at Overloon museum. If you need hands on references

Herbert thank you.
My Citroën is almost finished, I only have to scratch and install the windshield whipers.
I wanted to create a dusty look to make the black body stand out a bit more.
I built it with two half opened windows, and an opened windshield.
I needed two months to complete it, but how I enjoyed it ! Simple can be fun to !!!

Hey! This would be great in an "Look what I found in the barn" diorama. Looks like an car that have been sitting in a barn for a long time and was discovered by som collector!

Pat thank you, I'm glad you like it too.
Jan, thank you, this gives me courage to start my Opel build.
Henrik, that would have been a good idea but I have other plans with it, it will figure on a Normandy diorama where German soldiers confiscate the vehicle after years of hiding it in a garage.
Final pics follow soon I hope !
