This is great news. It's on my list! I wonder if they will include the anti-slip like they have done on previous kits.

Jaymes.

Are you so sure? Care to put some meat around that really thin bone.

No sign of it on the HobbyBoss website, no recent WIP from the Trumpeter/HobbyBoss guy, just a picture of the real thing in catalog???

While it would be a great thing I won't hold my breath on such a thin ground announcement

I have to agree with Richard here, while it would be a welcome release, can you give us more info Julian?

Ouch, a little harsh there boys, Julian is only claiming release of the kit next month, not a year or two away!
so if it HobbyBoss dont produce the goods then he'll only end up red faced!

..speaking from someone who gets occasional news like this, it is sometimes better to say nothing because a little isnt always enough and giving anymore insight can compromise you position and your source

..thanks for posting the news, we'll see in January 2010 the outcome

Truly sorry. My idea was not to sound harsh but suspicious

Giving a specific release day without fleshing it out is not something I would rely on. Absolutely no offence was meant toward Julian.

If it comes out like predicted I will be really really happy but, again, I won't hold my breath

Hay (metooshelah) ever tank on you link has bean made in to a kit. The Mk IV is the only kit that has not come out yet. Now if it comes out next month/year this will realy be a good thing. We all have to remember that Hobby Boss kits cost a bit more that othere kits. I wish there was mor info out from HB-Hobby Boss but some company dont do a full media blitz. Remember this company is in Red China. Now when have we ever got'in any info from them that there willing to give.

http://www.hobbyboss.com/news.htm

The U.S. distributor is MMD-Squadron and on there web site there's no new news on it. So just call them about this Merkava Mk IV and they tole me it is on the list for a future releases some time in (2010), here's that kits stock number HY82429. They told me that there's now price listed for this kit in the US yet. Now I do see it will come out overseas earlyer than the US., so I know that the releases date of next month/year may be right for overseas but not for the US market.
Now like the lady at Squadron said Hobby Boss will some times give out a releases-date for an item, that they don't live up to. We will see if HB will come out with the kit next month/year.
Here's some of what I have told you about the releases of the kit on cybermodeler sit:

http://www.cybermodeler.com/special/2009_armor_manuf.shtml

I have tryed to google it as: Hobby Boss Merkava Mk IV I also ass in the kit number and I only get this forum and the cybermodeler sit. So if it comes out soon and if any one gets it or sees it on a sit please post a link so we all can see it.

By for now guys.

Harsh?? If that's being harsh... . I'm sorry you think that, but I don't. I too was just looking for some more info. To actually give a release date when there has been nothing mentioned anywhere else just seems a little odd in this day and time (to me at least). Hey, if Julian is right I look forward to seeing HB's kit. We'll just have to wait and see, January 1, is only a little more than a week away.

Cheers,
Mike

That may be so in the US but everywhere else they are quite cheap so not ALL of us have to remember it.

I really don't think its going to be here in 7 days Julian read the news over at Creative models which says it had been released on the 1st january 2010. But Note according to creative models the Delta force FAV was released in 2006 but does anyone see it?
You check out the link to creative models here Also not the picture is of the prototype at Latrun if I am correct? I really don't think we will see the Hobby boss Merkava IV new years day....

I agree that the lack of any info is on the down side, but I'm holding my fingers so tight I can't even think of this not going to "release" hey, let's hope that HB are preparing a big surprise (a super-mega-deluxe kit ) and that's the reason no info is available

I can see it now Jaymes: A Merk IV kit, with the LIC upgrade (optional); workable tracks; 2 figures; various bags, rations etc.; molded anti-slip; ball-n'-chains from metal and turret and hull baskets (and of course, a metal gun, tons of PE and a nice decal sheet)

It'll be interesting to see if it does exist how it stacks up versus the Academy kit. I have not heard too much negative about the Academy kit.

Hi fellas,

RE Merkava 4

To be sure about the release I telephoned the UK importers Creative Models Ltd and they confirmed to me the release was 01/01/2010 and should be in the UK February 2010.

Amazing if they are supposed to be releasing one in a week or two, nothing at all on the Hobbyboss website.

What other versions were they supposed to be releasing? I thought there were a couple of Merkava IVs listed this time last year.

Any news in teh last week, just wondering.

Also what constitutes a Merk IV LIC? I think that may have been mentioned back when this first popped up early last year. I think LIC is Low Intensity Combat, but what mods would a tank so equipped have versus a standard MBT?

Happy New Year
Matt
