This Gepard was supposed to be a quick build when I last posted in this campaign - it seems like ages ago now
Anyway, I've assembled the turret and put some semi gloss black on it for a primer.
Next will be the Olive drab base coat followed by some post shading.
Decals will follow, then a clear coat and weathering..
Here's where I'm at :
Not long to go now ..
Cheers
Paul

Hi Paul,
Your shading is excellent.

Paul: That looks really good. I wouldn't have expected that over gloss black, but it seems to work well for you.

Thanks guys, looking at the photos, I don't think I'll do much weathering.
I'll dust up the skirts and tracks and that'll be it.
Using black allows you to do some pretty neat post shading.
Cheers

Hey folks,
I've been away for a while..
@Paul- Your Gepard came out great- especially the shading! I chickened out of giving my Gepard a monotone finish simply because I didn't think that I could make the model look vibrant- yours looks amazing. The Gepard is a great kit and a great build.
@ Lapman- I've been trying to keep my eyes open for a Shilka kit for ages. WHo makes it? It looks excellent.

Aloha all:
I'm calling this one done for the campaign. Trumpeters Sam-6 in 1/35th scale, in an Iraqi color scheme.

Very nice SA-6, Zon. A very clean build. Ready for a parade
Beautiful whirlwind, Tom. Is this the Trumpeter or Tamiya kit? Did you use brass 2cm flak gunbarrels?

Hi all,
Apologies for not getting anything done for the campaign as I had hoped - my build time has been full up with late-running stuff. So, instead of offering a BW Gepard I'm going to raise the white flag and withdraw.
There are some cracking builds here. (Paul, your Gepard is stunning!)
Over & out,
Tom

Jesper,
This is the new Dragon 6342 Kit. I built this out of the box. I used Testors buffing gunmetal for the barrels.

Jesper: Thanks for the comment! Yes, it is too clean. I plan to put it in a dio, so will muck it up then. The references I have show them fairly "unused" but slightly muddy on the tracks, which will fit my urban dio pretty well.
Tom: Very nice build on the Whirlwind. Nice camo.

Sadly like Tom I am not going to be finished anywhere near the deadline so I must also do the decent thing and withdraw also.My apologies.
There has been some fine craftsmanship and imagination on display during this campaign.
Thanks for a very well run thread.

My guess is I won't finish the Duster either. Combination of "building block" and "no time" due to conventions and relocation (But man will I get a HUGE hobby room - 25+ m2)
So unless we can talk the operator of this interesting, well run campaign with the beautiful logo into an extension I sadly have to drop this as well.

Hi folks, what is the timiplan here? Me and Steven Davies are planning to start building Flakpanzer I with superdetail sets from LionRoar in September. Should we build here or we need a new groupbuild for that?

The campaign ends at the end of the month (unless there is an extension).
