Has it ever been considered to have a chat room here on Armorama?

Just curious.

Well, oddly enough, the big A used to have a chat room. If I remember correctly, Jim pulled the plug because it wasn't used enough. But it's been a while, so I could be wrong.

There's been at least 3 variations, two were part of the site and the third was an MSN group chat. Bad stuff happened in there that overflowed to the site and other modeling sites.

I never was part of any of the chat rooms ... but remember the outfall. A lot of members huddled into small groups ... there was a lot of "us and them" accusations, and it all ended up be rows and people leaving.

Theres nothing to stop people meeting and chatting through Facebook and the likes, see link at the bottom of the page.

Best to let sleeping dogs lie. There are plenty of Comm programs out there for anyone who feels the urge. I don't think we really need another area to watch over..

I already spend more time on this computer rather than actually modeling. I imagine a chat room to take away the rest of my free time. Am I alone in this thought ?....... ....Al

I agree with Jeremy. If this gets labeled as chat I'll be blocked.

Same thing here... there are already too many good sites blocked by my company's internet security system...
