Mario, this is amazing work here. Your process of painting the model with most of the accesseries on while painting the base color and then paint the added stuff is new to me. I would imagine it will be very difficult to it after the main base color is on, however, you are making it look easy. I mostly build modern aircrafts and most of the guys I know, including myself, will leave the accessories off until main body is all done.
I'm learning a whole new way of building models reading your WIP thread. So, keep it coming cause I'm taking notes.

Phil and Mike, thanks!
As for painting the model with all accessories attached was no fun. A lot of masking tape and some nerve-wrecking overspray, but I think it was worth it in the end. I decided to paint the model this way as the sandbags did not fit perfectly to the model and I had to use some putty to make the transitions smooth. When the sandbags were in place, I decided to add most of the other accessories on as well... It's not new, I just thought it would give more realistic results this way.
Mario
PS I did not forget about the model, it is still on my bench, I'm just waiting for some parts for the turret so I can continue the build.

Thanks Mike, I appreciate your comments and I'm glad you like my work on this one.
Hopefully, I'll start to work on it again soon... I'm still waiting for the parts I need fot the turret.

Here's an update after quite a while. The reason for the slower build pace was this... I found an extremely nice set of Vulcan barrels from Master Model in 1/32 scale. As I wasn't satisfied with the barrels from Hobby Fan conversion I decided to get the Master Model set, only to find the difference in scale is quite noticeable. However, Piotr from Master told me he will be releasing the set in 1/35 scale as well soon. And I decided to wait... After receiving the pre-production run (thanks Piotr!) I knew it was well worth it. The barrels are simply amazing. Here are the contents of the set:
Assembling the barrels is not an easy task and I'm working slowly with these hoping not to make a mess of it all. Here are the dry-fitted pieces with several details still missing. It really is a test of patience, since everything has to be perfectly straight.
And here's a comparison between these and Hobby Fan barrels. You can see the length is similar, but Hobby Fan barrels are much thicker with the front gun portion not completely accurate.
Hopefully, I'll have another update soon.

Wow, I'd build a Vulcan just to use that set! Awesome.

Hey Mario!
You did great to wait. The master model is indeed better looking and more accurate. It will be a superb addition to an amazing builld.

Thanks guys, I think these barrels were well worth the wait... building them is not easy but I think they will look great once fully assembled.
Now I just need some pieces I'm waiting from Legend.

Graeme, thanks for bringing this topic back to life. However, I don't have anything new to report, sorry. I became frustrated with this project and decided to do something quick just to get my modeling juices flowing again...
