Good deal I do like the Antenna mount the rear tow well not for me but the 50 cal mount that is sweet.
Can also mount the 75 MM recoilless that is coming out this month.
No work this week as real work and the hours kept me away from doing any modeling.
Don't you just hate that.

Well not much lately as other projects.
Did add the Valve stems and put on some writing on the rear Differential.
Other then that sanding like a fool.
Bad thing on large kits is the amount of sanding required more on the springs then a whole Sherman kit.
What is says is
UBE
Hypoid
OilOnly

Added the Missing webs on the Axles.
Added some letters and numbers all for now.
Soon it will start to come together after the lower parts are done.
Still need to add the things on the axle only one so far.
Cheers

Jeff this looks like a great model and your super detailing is spot on. Been working on one of these in 1/1 scale on and off for the last few years, my dad has a 1942 Ford Jeep that he's restoring.
Cheers!

Thanks Stefan.
I have been looking and boy one can turn this kit into a year one easy.
Just look here.
http://www.xs4all.nl/~rdrnl/Littleplates.htm
Yep a long build it can be.
But those Pumpkins are killer.
Enjoy the build.

Where did you get this for $92.00? I just checked Squadron and its $123.00. I have got to get me one of these!
I was given the '90's Issue GI Joe and have never taken it out of the box, I also have the Ultimate Soldier RC M-5 and had thought about an RC jeep would be great, Now????????
Thanks Gdub

Gdub,
It pains me to show you this, but it's available here for under $72 with FREE SHIPPING.
http://www.myatomic.com/catalog/search?within=catid%3A318+mfrid%3A124&q=4x4
These guys are good to deal with too. I may just have to buy another one . . .
Just received the resin .50cal pintle mount and antenna base. The gusset plates need some cleanup but overall, pretty nice. By the time Jeff gets his built I'll be broke buying AM stuff for mine

Well I ordered the mount on Friday I think.
And I am looking for the suspension components I might change them out to real brass so thinking about that.
Close to getting one axle mounted.
Picture of dry fit is the reason I am looking at 1/6 scale R/C car stuff.
Still more sanding needed on the springs and all,but part fit is right on a little filing to level the area of attachment is all on that
Not bad on a little clean up as the kit requires major sanding, could always use it for a model and make one in brass tube.
Not but maybe.
That is no lie the $100.00 kit will be $300.00 by the time it is done.
Do not forget the $41.00 plus shipping for the Gun cradle and ammo tray and the extra $14.00 for the cloth belt with Brass rounds to go with it.
So get that wallet back out Sauron
Lost out on any deals in the UK as a beef between the two.
So better to leave that alone.
Post on anything done.
Think will hit the local Model store and clean them out of Tamiya OD green today.
I am going to finish sanding the tire seams and wash and hit them first so paint might be coming on next weekend on the wheels.
Good deal on the $75.00 but what was the shipping free I think.
Not bad for somebody to get one from there a Campaign in 1/6 scale of the Jeep.
Of cause we get a head start.
I only need one of these things is all the wallet can handle.

Still slugging away.
Holes plugged in spring
I am adding some better looking shocks.
Changing the Transfer cover from kit to one better I think, most is hidden but still was not right.
Actually all not right but do not want to change the entire thing.
Paint going on.
Need to shoot an Acrylic coat to seal all before washes and other colors of paint come on.
Still need to paint those rims closer to the tire.
About all on that for now.
Cheers

Good deal Andy.
Tell her cheaper then some pints.
You need now to build it.
Not a bad kit really just I can see why a few short cuts as to price.
Here $100.00 if totally right maybe $300.00 then would put it out of range for me.
Too bad they would not do an 88 MM would be all over that one.
Well a got the two rear shocks on need to fill that one hole and add some more putty to get that cover blended in better.
Soon to the front and two more shocks.
Also shot some Vallejo flat on all the tires painted already.

Hi Jeff
I've a half built kett and the pak 37 and I'm looking to get the schwimmm.
The scope for superdetailing these kits is fantastic,I love what you have done with the axles and shocks on your jeep,I'm thinking of doing mine as a Brit Airborne version
Like you I would love an 88,come on Dragon!!!

Thanks again Andy.
Not much to put up I did repaint tires in a better OD Green.
The Tamiya stuff I had was to dark so new bottles on hand.
Also shot some future so I can mask the Rims and repaint the Black again.
Added the four underneath brackets I need to move one but the pictures over a little.
Rivets for them on order.
Cheers

Not much going on now.
A little update.
Added some plastic to build frame back out.
Added the rear bolts.
Trying to get the Muffler looking right, where is Rob the Rust guy at.
It was painted in Alcad first.
Tow pintle might be going away replaced by John's nice one
Still thinking about redoing the springs and hangers.
Cheers

As no way to edit anything cause of a Few Butt wipes.
Well tried to see what the parts would look like and to see if any problems not bad really.
So some temp taped parts.
Looks to be a good fit.
Really a surprise at this scale that it would as sometimes even 1/35 scale stuff will not fit, right dudes.
Cheers

Well I did also post in Painting as I have received an email from a close friend that did not like it so asking if I need to add more lighter color.
Remember the washes and filters oil dots not on yet.
Thanks.

Well as the dang windshield was scratched I had an idea.
So I made me a glass windshield.
A little sanding and in it goes.
Add the little mounts and then done.
No kids here so be good, but I did cut a few extras.
Caution not for Children under 14 as to real glass.
Enjoy

Getting there need to even the paint out some more and use different colors.
Running out of paint and waiting for the LHS guy to get some of those big jars in.
I said I need three in case.
Will all come out okay I think by time I get to the finish coat.
I hope anyway.

Thanks John and Andy.
Looks like just us two on here.
The rest will fall in line soon.
Glass 1/16 inch out of a buck picture frame from the dollar store was enough to cut three of them.
Yes lapping paint, well enough already to paint 6 or 7 heck maybe 10 1/35 Sherman's and still more needed.
Cheers how are Rads and Pershing's coming along.
I must say that John's 50 cal mount is good stuff indeed.
I applied the brackets and added the welds yesterday.
