Hi Guys,
This is my first post here but have been viewing the site for ages. I am currently building a small Ardennes diorama from Tamiya's kit. only aftermarket bits are the PE grills, metal barrell and the DML magic tracks.
I'm just looking for your opinions on the ambush camo and the ground work. This is my first attempt at the ambush camo. I know 204 was hard edged but i prefer the soft edged look! The ground work is not finished yet (the ground work is still drying!) but im not sure if the tank is going to look natural sitting on that ground work. I have figures, a motorcycle and a couple of tress to go on yet. Im tempted to put snow on it but i think 204 was abandoned before it snowed?
Anyway hope you guys like it and any positive/negetive comments would be appreciated

Matt,
Looks pretty good to me! On the photos, if you click the icon to the right of where it says "linked Thumbnail" you get a code that looks like this:
img src="http://gallery.kitmaker.net/data/500/Tiger_13.jpg" /
with arrows at either end - copy this into your post and the image will appear, like this:
Hope this helps,
Tom

Hey Matt
I'm no German expert but it looks good to me...
As for the groundwork, I'd say you'd probably have limited room to add figures, motorcycle and trees also... I'd go for a more barren look but with further grasses differing in length and colour? The trees may make it a little too crowded...
Good luck with it all

Hi
The tank looks good, especially the paint job. Must be quite a big kit in 1/35.
Did you spray it with all the extras added from the start or add them at the end?

Hi guys,
Thanks for your comments. I am a little stuck when it comes to the ground work as it is a very limited space. My idea was to depict 204 in a defensive positon so I was going to put a tree in the corner as if it was being used for camoflague. The tree i have is a small fir tree and just fits nicely in the corner.
I was then going to use the figures and the BMW motorcycle from the kit. The idea being that the commander and loader are asking the rider about ammo and fuel. Maybe also have a pile of empty shell cases by and on the tank. May have to have a rethink as I dont want it to look over cluttered. Still undicided about snow.
Tim, all the tools etc where painted on the vehicle after the camo was done.
Thanks again for your input guys

Looks pretty good overall. My only thought is that the Tiger II was a monster and with its massive weight would not just be sitting on the ground work like that. To give a better impression of its weight I'd work the tracks deeper into the ground work. In one area the tracks are not even touching the ground. Chances are the suspension would have adjusted to that unevenness. Aside from that it looks to have a lot of promise! Look forward to seeing the final result. Enjoy.

Matt,
The snow looks great, gives the whole dio a lot more life. What did you use for it? Great job overall.

That looks awesome! For the camo, are you masking the dot/dash(whatever you'd call the little spots) or brushing them on? Thanks

Hi guys,
thanks for all your comments
Sal, for the snow i used bicarbonate of soda mixed with pva/white glue and a bit of water to make a paste and brushed it on.
Justin, for the dots i just painted them on free hand.
I have decided to use this figure set
http://www.modelsforsale.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=95731
the figure standing up will be on the ground looking up at the tank commander. this allows me to still use the kit figures for the commander and loader.
I will post up some new pics once i have the figures done
Matt

The tank looks like it's sitting too lightly on the groundwork, so you'll need to dig it in a little, and the groundwork is too green. Also a little snow wouldn't hurt, as was late in the year. Just a dusting on the groundwork. Otherwise it looks good so far and your ambush camo is quite well done.

Hi guys,
Just a small update. The commander and loader are finshed and in place and i have added a Dragon MG34 to the AA ring. The figures aren't the greatest but to be honest im not that interested in painting figures! Just the 4 fallschirmjager figuers to go
Heres the pics, any tips on figure painting would be very helpful!
