Hi Vlady

If you're including Malta, maybe you could open things up for ship modellers to join in... :-)

Would this then be Armorama's first Land, Sea and Air Campaign...?

All the best

:-) Great stuff Vlad, looks like I'll be doing Screwball Buerlings Spitfire then :-) I might even do a Malta Sea Gladiator as well :-)

Is the Tamiya Quad with 25 pounder Field Gun a valid entry?

This sounds interesting. Maybe I can carry over my 222 from Barbarossa that never got done due to mitigating circumstances. You know, maybe after a couple campaigns I'll actually get it done!! :-) :-) :-)

I've ordered the model it's a Marder III.

Is it ok to start now? or should we wait 'till this is in the official campaign section?

This is a group build, so it won't get into the "official campaign system".
You can start right away !
My Valentine is already much advanced : I only have the tracks and the machine gun left to add !

Heck no - your not too late.... I just got started proper on my Alan Bison II.... Join right in, and be sure to post a few pictures along the way. I always like to see in progress shots. I should have some pictures of my project up tomorrow (hopefully). Tonight I'm going to try to get the thing recognizable :-) :-) It's still in a million pieces!

Hi there

I'm doing a bit of a hasty back-track in order to get something going for this build!

My Macchi 202 turns out to have Italian theatre markings, and the Boston is probably too ambitious to combine with A-UK...

So I've started work on Eduard's Messerschmitt Bf 108 in African markings... it's been on the shelf a while, and this is a great excuse to re-open the box!! :-)

I'll post some pics when there's something to look at...

All the best

Back again! :-)

While shopping today, I spotted Hasegawa's Hurricane Mk. IID "Tankbuster" and, of course, I couldn't resist it!

So I'm back to trying to do 2 kits, but this shouldn't be as big a job as a Boston... I'll have to try to do something about the OTT fabric-effect on the fuselage though .

All the best

Rowan, I can't wait to see your Me 108 Taifun !! Are you having fun with the kit ?

I'm still working on my valentine tank. The tracks are now glued in place. They are link by link tracks, DML style, so it took me a bit of time.
Now, all that's left to do is glue the commanders hatches in place. It might not be that easy because the fit just looks awful... of course, then I'll have to paint the stuff...

Well I'm going all out on this one, I've got several old kits I've been waiting for this to start plus a few others I wanted to build anyway. So far I'm working on:

Revell 1/35 M13/40 Italian medium tank
Revell 1/35 M41 Semovente Italian SP assault gun
Revell 1/35 Marder 3 German SP AT gun
Tamiya 1/35 LRDG Chevrolet truck
Tamiya 1/35 SdKfz 222

Depending on how these go I'm considering some other North African specialties:
Panzer 3 and 4
Panzer 1 150mm SP gun (the big boxy one)
M3 Lee / Grant
M3 Stuart
Matilda
Crusader
SAS / LRDG Jeep
Bishop

Just a good excuse to build some unusual early war stuff.

Hi penpen

Yeah the Bf108 should hopefully look quite neat.

It's early days to draw too many conclusions about the kit but I've thinned the trailing edges down a fair bit and I can see a there's dodgy joint to deal with where the rear of the wing meets the fuselage.

Looking forward to the Valentine. I've never tried individual track links... are they as tricky as they look?

Crikey AaronW! That's quite a list! :-) It puts my worries about doing 2 aircraft in perspective!

All the best

I had 4 of the 5 in my closet waiting for an excuse, when talk of this N.African build came up I figured I would save them for it.

Hye merlin !
The single links tracks aren't that difficult to tackle ! There are great articles here on the site to show the techniques to use. Then, you need to practice a bit... But now it's what I like best !
