Hello to all, I made pdf-files of all of my build-logs for reading them later without beeing online.
As I read, so I´m sure I´ve missed some answers.
But I will try to answer them, if I will find the correct words.
Also I read some interesting things, which I´ve "over-read" / "over-seen", or have not noticed.
So possibly I have some answers or questions, because english is not my mother-language and not easy for me.
greetings...
Soeren

Thanks, Jeremy!
Unfortunely I have only a few information about these gun-sites at the Atlantic-wall and how to fix / secure the gun while firing.
I made a color-comparison using an "out of point focus". The colors can be seen better, than in a sharp image, I think.
I bought a small package of wood. It is used for mixing colors, but I will use it for the walls.
But I have no information about lenghts and will try my own version.
Painting them would be a good choice. (darker)
.
Also from my last dio I will use some grass.

A small update:
I made the first sets of wooden boards for the wall.
The length depends on each part of the wall.
But I have no good information about height, so I try to use the image and the wheel of the gun as a reference.

I started with the rough shape of the base.
For this I used styrofoam, but later I will try other materials.
I cut more wooden parts and made some weathering-tests.
I have no exact information of the height of the wall.
Also I have no information about to "fix" or lock the gun while shooting.
My idea looks a bit like some russian guns.

Great thread. I read it from front to back. Good step by steps. And a nice dio idea. Looking forward to the finished project.
I recently aquired the Precision models version of this gun with it's Protze. Gives some good inspiration looking in your topic.

To help you with the trench/fortification .. height of the wall etc this site might help you. I find it very usefull.

After 2 months one reply. Sorry for that... there is no update.
Thanks Simon, for the link!
I saved the webpage for a later visit and "which images are for use".
Also thank you very much, Guido!
I found "your parts" of the webpage on modellversium.
greetings and thanks...

Hello Milojko, I only used thinned / diluted (mixed with water) colors from Revell.
Actually I use the "new" colors by the company, which are in blue containers and "perfect" to use.
For my tests I used a medium grey (which I also used for my actual soviet space diorama), but also the s.K18 gun itself will be painted in this color.
The other weathering-test of the wood was made with a simple black from Revell.
The result of the weathered style looks good, but I saw some more -and better- dioramas, on which were possibly used oils or pigments for weathering.
I saved some images of them.
But for me, the Revell-colors and my simple techniques are okay.
I will try to be in a campaign (my first one), so I would buy some figures.
My plans were an "soldiers at rest" (not in action), so I will see, which figures I can use.
Sorry for the slow progress, but thanks for reading!

Looks really good so far, Soeren! I haven't been into guns for a few months now and all I've been doing are modern jets. My gun kit stash has gone from 50 to just 2 now so I don't have much to build. Got to pick this one and get working on it!
No updates on this since the 30th so I hope to see more soon!

Hi Rob and others, which kits did you build? (from 50 to only 2 left)
There´s ia a lot of kits, to build.
There is no update (including today), but I will do a better work the next months!
I´m in a campaign and you will see a set of figures on my diorama!!!
off-topic!
Rob, (or an other english-speaker), possibly can help me with a song-text of a group.
If one of you is interested, I will send my (nearly finished) text to you via PM for correction/ or adding some words.
My english is not good enough.
greetings...

A small information:
I joined a campaign, which stars in june. Until then there are no big updates on the kit and dio.
If you have advices / tips about building the parts of the diorama-scene, I would be very grateful.
I would need some help with this and can make tests.

Hi to all!
Some news from me and the status:
Due to my "disease" I had no quiet hand and can not make any good work.
I stopped all work for a long time... except for my "CAD"-based-ones.
Now, I will rebuild the diorama using "styrodur" as the material, which is much finer and more easy to cut.
I will buy a piece of 30 mm thickness (a bit more than one inch).
But possibly it will take some time!
The campaign:
Sadly I coudn´t finished, but I said it to them... and the reason.
greetings...

Bump for a good thread!
Well, I'm back from the dead it seems I've gone through the entire build thread one more time to get my artillery juices flowing again. I've not done a single arty kit in some months but I do have one cooking at the moment.
Sorry to hear about you disease, Soeren. Hope it isn't too serious. I look forward to seeing progress on this again.
