Ok guys, ill start the ball rollin, here is the progress(not much) on my King Tiger and the building for my dio. Will you guys please give me some advice on the building, its my first dio and i really dont know what im doing. Does it look European, i couldnt find any good pictures on google. Also, would the stonework look like that or should i restart and make it a plaster over brick building? Which would be the easier of the two, i want it to be in france.

Hi all
I hava started fast my project
There are a few mistakes here and there but fortunately nothing special.
I have also finished masking the canopy.
Because this will be a fast build, I don't have the intend to scratchbuild anything (ex. the bare sidewalls). It will be a fast O.O.B. build.
Cheers Nick

Brian it is a little difficult to help with your request without more information such as setting, information such as where in France you want your setting, and what type of building it is intended to represent. Also without some sort of scale to judge the building by make it difficult to provide more information. I would suggest that you search using google image and search “French WW2 buildings” for general information and a location in France for my precise information.
Nick and Brian I am glad to see your builds started.

Looking excellent so far gentlemen, looking forward to more
Nice start on the KT Brian, and the building too! Can't help on the architecture, but the 'ruin' looks great.
Nick, must have been fun masking that tiny canopy Did you choose a paint scheme yet? The box art looks cool.

Hi guys. I'm excited about this Campaign idea, and so is Josh ! It's great to see the next generation in action and I think it would be a great idea to have this as an annual event, and possibly in the second half of the year a father/son (oops, parent/son to be politically correct, sorry mums) dual build ?
On with the show, here's Josh with his kit, photo courtesy of big sister Lola with her new camera !!
Next problem, all of my work is getting thrown off the bench to make way for this monster. WHOSE BRIGHT IDEA WAS THIS ANYWAY ???
Best wishes for the new year to all, and good luck with your builds here .

Ok, I had a chat with our boys and both are interested in to join, if I do all the posting. Both will build 1/72 HobbyBoss easy assembly planes. Younger will build Me163 fighter and older son will build He162 "Salamander".
Pics and update will follow later, when I have recovered from this flu.

Ok guys, here is a little update on my progress. I have wired the headlight and im working on scratchbuilding the fenders. The material i use for all my scratchbuilding, both the plastic and the metal are for sale signs that you get at walmart. Its cheap styrene, you can get a few different thicknesses and if you need thick, its easy to laminate a couple together. Oh and the fender looks kinda bent up, that wwas on purpose.

i have been quite sick over the past couple of days 8-I and have not been able to do much with my model, but i have dedicated myself to spending the whole of tomorrow to building it. i was also wondering would it be worth buying wheel masks?

I personallly wouldnt buy wheel masks, what i do, is either brush paint the rims or airbrush the entire thing black and get a circle template, the ones used for drafting and find the hole thats the size of the actual metal part of the wheel and spray in the circle, then you can paint any wheels on any model you want. Does this make since?

yes it does, i usually airbrush the wheels and then paint the rubber rim, maybe i'll just stick to my own method and save my money then.

that is whaat i would do, in my opinion, the wheel masks are a waste of money because they only mask one or two sets of wheels and then theyre done

A great update
I have finished the cockpit, painted some small details, closed the fuselage, attached the wings, glued the 2/3 parts of the canopy & I also sprayed the RLM 65 to the down surface
SORRY for that, I'll try to upload the photos later, because photobucket doesn't do me the favor now
Cheers Nick

Good work being posted, and fast as well. Here is what Adam has been able to do so far on the M1130 CV/TACV from AFV Club.
I'm showing him how to bend the etch. I've got the same kit. I do a little on mine and then go to work. When he comes home he can see what I have done and follow along. He wanted to separate every part in the suspension and replace it with metal rod to try and make it workable and motorized.
Andrew will have some progress to post soon as well.

Man, i need to post an update soon. Since my last up date, i have the fenders completely scratch built, the cobblestones on the street of the dio, some of the figures put together and the brickwork has been starteeed on the building itself i dont know how accurate the building will be but it will look cool and in my opinion thats all im worried about (hopefully that doesnt sound ignorant)

Heres a quick photo update as to where i im at as of about 10:00 this morning, this is kind of how the final dio will look, everything is layed out and the figures are posed, do you guys think maybe i need a couple figures around the tank? I think the rubble will hopefully take up some of that empty space
The figures will look more solid once they are glued in place, theyre just kind of sitting on the tank right now
