Just letting everyone know that the planned start date for Allied Armor is January 1st. This should give everyone enough time to complete any current projects/campaigns and decide what kit they would like to submit. Overview is the same as my past Axis of Armor Campaign. No 'what ifs'. Any armor used by the Allies from 1938 to 1945. I'll be looking for a somewhat obscure kit to enter and hope everyone finds an enjoyable build. Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks in advance
Matt N.

Matt,
Forgot all about seeing this 1 in the Axis Armor Campaign Tread. How long will the campaign be being that there are a lot of great other campaigns starting around the New Year as well I think I'm committed to like around 10 starting between December - February But I did just pick up an Academy M-10 Duckbill so I have some stuff in the stash

I think I can stretch it to two months or I can push the start date back to February. Much shorter than the Axis of Armor Campaign.

Matt,
With all the other Allied type campaigns set to start soon, 5 at least (Killer KV, British Armor, Land Down Under, White Eagle and American Armor), you might not get many takers here if its too short just my $.02

Thanks Sal. That's why I posted it so early. Have time to get dates set up so everyone who wants to can participate.

Not enough people have enlisted. I am going to push it back to October. Start recruiting members that may be interested.

October would certainly be a reasonable start date. Is there another thread for this campaign?

Matt I think the exceptionally high number of active and soon to start campaigns may be the reason for a lack of interested parties, most of which Jeremy is entered into

I renamed the topic to get rid of the old January 1 reference.

Count me in if you like, I only build allied so I might be able to come up with something

Matt,
I'm already overcommitted to too many campaigns that end in December, so realistically I could only jump in at the start of 2012. But I'm always keen to build another Sherman! How long will it run?
(And I still haven't finished my failed Axis build - it's my entry for this year's Getter Done... )

Tom, I suppose I can push the deadline back to Jan. 30. This should let everyone get a chance to enlist. At least your Axis model found a home.

Matt, I'm being a bit dense at the moment - you are planning to start in October 2011, and finish in Jan 2012? Or am I just confused? Could you please state your planned Start & Finish dates to clarify the issue?
Thanks!
Tom
Thanks!
Tom

With the overwhelming amount of campaigns this year, the time-frame is going to be from Oct. 2011 to Feb. 1 2012. That is if the Mayans were incorrect in their prediction of the apocalypse.

I'll be in Matt with either a Tasca Jumbo 1/35 or a Tasca Sherman III in Polish 2nd Corps MTO livery

Thanks Matt - my fog has been lifted! And if the Mayans turn out to be right I hope they award ribbons before it all falls apart!
Naturally, I'm in.

Hi Matt,
I would be interested and as it is a short duration would propose to do the IBG Polski Fiat 508/III. Mainly because it is small and a lovely little kit that would fit nicely into that time-frame. I also have never done a Polish vehicle before.
All the best,
Paul

Good, good. All we need is one more person, and I am sure there will be more by October.
