This is my new OOB build of the newest Trumpeter Stryker kit, the MEV.
A review will be publish soon

First step suspension, transmission bar, rear ramp. Step 1 to 6.
No comments here same issues as all the stryker familly.
The rear ramp is new and you need to add the small panel for the rear red cross.

I will build it nearly OOB and I will add the MILES tapes and detectors if someone can help me with the small black laser receptors. He will be welcome. I also need the cabling scheme for all the miles.

Great start Seb..The photo-etch racks on the rear sure make a difference compared to the plastic parts.

Seb, I can help you out a little on the MILES. The MILES is covered in my NTC book by WWP by the way.

In addition to the MILES light provided in this kit. there are a number of small plates that go around the vehicle, with wire attached of course (the MILES belts with receiver nodes), and a box a little larger than a .50 cal ammo box with many wires going into it as well.

Nice start. I'm waiting this kit next week. I will build this model with PE details of my production.

Seb, I don't have measurements of the Miles belt. I eyeballed the width and then used railroad hobby shop rivets that were the appropriate size. I used masking tape sold here in the US that has a texture to it for the Miles belt, since the Miles belts are not quite smooth - and they have the wire underneath that tends to show through the belt as a slight bump.

Anyway, here is another shot of my Miles equipped Stryker to show how I handled the wiring. And a couple of shots of an MEV from the NTC.

Step 6 to Step 17.
All the upper hull racks and details.
While you are building the upper hull you should invert the instruction.
it is better to left part WB25 of step 15 and glue it after installing the TC hatch at the step 19.

It is a really fast build I am almost done.
I open the LHS rack.

Base of the RWS

Well this build is almost done.
Really great and fast 9 hours to arrive at this point.

Step 22 dont glue the top of the whoopie it will be difficult to do a good paint job on the transparent part leave part WG23 away.
Step 23 be careful with parts WG20, WG29, WG21 and WG30. it is hard to square them.

Miles bands are applied the laser receptors will be glued after painting.

One comment, the solder used for the Miles tape looks a little out of scale, you might be able to use the copper wire that you used on the grenade launchers, it looks a little thinner.

I like your idea of painting the engine grills prior to installing the cover, good idea.

IIRC the MILES straps are OD nylon like you thought. Nice build BTW.

The paint job almost done.
i did try some oil fading and rainmarks, I am not happy with the last ones.

I really like this version of the Stryker and overall, I think you've done a great job. There are 2 things I would suggest to make it better; the first is to take some pics of it that are better quality (like your WIP photos earlier). The second is I would remove the two vertical rain marks (?) on the hull side, underneath the RWS hatch. They look like a #4 brush mark, ie, out of scale. The rest of the weathering looks quite realistic IMO.
