I don't know jack about the Leopard, so the Canadian version is even more of a problem for me. But I love the look of this tank. It was brought up for a moment, but I am not sure answered - from the photos provided thus far, does it look like the Barracuda kit will alleviate the need for buying the upgrade set by Perfect Scale? It seems most of the detail is covered by the camo net.

If I were to look for reference, what is the best book? I tried to find the Tankograd book on Canadian Leopard but my sources do not have it right now. Is that the best, or is there another book that is helpful?

Hey Jason You made some great points there, thanks. there is one I will disagree with. The Tamiya Leo anti slip is there and its in good scale unlike some of the anti slip modellers are applying after,me included,Tamiya did a good job getting the texture right. I would like to see more models with the anti slip that way.

Thanks Chris, you are correct about the anti-slip.....sometimes its easy to keep looking for things that need to be added instead of looking at what good stuff is already there. Have you finished the groundwork for your Leo 2A4 vignette?

Anthony, thanks for the offer. I will take you up on it. Looking forward to your book w/ Milo. I really liked the 'in action' photos of the first book. The cover photo is a real eye catcher.

The book with Milosalv & Rick will be a good one that will cover a good time spread that we hope will fill the gaps from the other great books out there on the Canuck Leo 2A6M. I will not spill the beans as to what is in the book, but it should be a must have when it comes out.

Hi Jason I want to do the C-1 without the IRS100, I see at Trackjam models he has a Realmodel PE kit for the C-1. However I do not know what is included in this kit but it is almost thirty dollars cheaper than the Trackjam conversion. I'll attach a couple of pictures of the current state that my C-1 project is in so far I have given most of it a primer coat and will be doing another one shortly for the track guards.

Hmmm.....well, every C1 had the PZB200 so I am not sure how you are going to get around that. You could just show the mount and the cage and not mount the PZB200....is that what you mean?

The Real Model set is not a conversion into a C1 or C2.....it provides some very good PE for anyone building a C1 or C2.....I provided some "technical" input as to what should be included in the set....I like what was included!

Feel free to drop me a line if you need any info or advice on the C1.

Oh sorry Jason I was trying to refer to the version with the wider cage. I'm figuring on modelling my Leopard with the narrow cage as it had originally been equipped with. Does Realmodel's P.E. kit come with the cage and the thermal device? I just wanna get the better bang for my buck and I'm on a little bit of a budget these days with Christmas fast approaching.

The only set with the cage and the PZB200 is the MLM Early Leopard C1 conversion.

Just to help you clarify things....PZB200.......night fighting camera system (NFCS).....not thermal.....the smaller IRS 100 that was fitted in the larger cage.....thermal pointer that was nowhere near what current thermal imagery is.

So I guess I'll have to wait till MLM opens again in the new year. I recall I think it was you in the Leopard I trilogy talking about how primitive the thermal night vision system was for the C-1.

the price for these goodies out paces real modelers how did an aforible hobby get sooo pricey the psm product is very good but a year from now when they are corrected and made in plastic and cost 50.00 fromhobby boss you will kick yourself the fellows at hobbyboss excell at copying and they will copy this upgrade if they see all this interest on the net.How many kits have you seen released and then re released and corrected and upgraded as 2nd generation kits? by the time I finnish my A26M leo and a nice c2 mexas this upgrade in barracuda will be out there at a good savings in plastic and corrected.

Hey Charles !

You may be right that some "big" producer of plastic kits might jump on this train, but I would not count on it. I believe that these this kind of models, including a Barracuda finish for example, are too complicated to be produced in usual manner. Besides, why didn't they do it in the first place ?
Think that the "big" copmanies are not interested to fulfill such individual demands, big + cheap production at low cost = big profit, that is what it's all about.
So thankx to PSM another AM companies which, at least to some extend, are able to fill the gaps.

Cheers

I agree...it is German.....but not WWII German.....so don't expect to see it done by the big main stream model producers!

Just noticed this one on PMMS: link

Yes, I know it is Cromwell and I'm aware of the issues of ordering from them... but can you guys compare the two Barracuda sets from these pictures? PSM vs Cromwell?
