I started building this kit back in May but ran out of time to finish this before I started my deployment. I have built this OOB with no aftermarket accessories. I did make the spare road wheel and track hangers out of plastic stock. This was my first attempt at this type of camo. I sprayed Future on the kit and applied the decals. I am wanting to try using a filter spray, but am nervous about trying it. If I understand it correctly, I just lighten up the base color by adding white to it, and then spray a very fine coat on? Well here are the pics so far, I still need to add some stowage on it and am debating whether or not to add the rear MG. Eventually I am planning to use this in a dio. My idea is to have it parked in front a wrecked building and have the Panzer Grenadiers dismounted and just hanging out near the vehicle relaxing. Inside the wrecked building are two American GIs who have been cut off from their unit and they have a bazooka and are about to shoot the half track as a target of opportunity.
The colors I used were Model Master Panzer Dunkelgelb, MM French Khaki, and MM Leather. Despite not having a nozzle for my airbrush for really fine lines, I think the camo turned out pretty decent. I welcome any suggestions or tips.
Here are the pics of the vehicle so far:

Art, looks like a nice clean build so far of the old Tamiya 251. I take it there is some weathering on the way. BTW, you've marked this vehicle as belonging to 5 SS Panzer "Wiking". They only fought on the Eastern Front. You may wish to change the div sign to suit your dio.

Steve,
Thanks for the comment on the division, I completely missed that when I was thinking of the dio! Maybe I will just substitute the GIs for some Russian tank hunters. I am planning to do some weathering, might try a filter and then experiment with some pastels for dirt etc. I only have a few days left for R&R and have to head back overseas to finish my deployment, so hopefully I will have time to work on it some more. I also may look into Archer Transfers for a different division sign. Who knows! Thanks for the comments!

You may want to pick out some shadows with thinned light brown or watercolors. This works especially well when done around the engine compartment doos and louvers. Looks great so far.

After doing some research on where the SS Panzer Divisions fought, I decided that I will be changing the division tactical marking to the 2nd SS Panzer Div "Das Reich" so that I can go with my original idea of having two GIs waiting in ambush. My leave is up in two days so I will not be able to change markings or finish the model until I return from my deployment in the spring. Now it's time to order some Archer transfers!

You did well on this oldy!
The build looks good and the camouflage too!
There's one problem though; the interior should have the same basecolour as the exterior! So no gray, but yellow....
Something to keep in mind with your next 251.
