This is my newest diorama called “Sweet Dreams”.
The 101st Airborne figures are from Nemrod. I replaced all of their heads with Hornet head sets, added chin straps to their helmets, and gave them rifle slings. The sleeping Germans are from Warriors and Royal Model. The one from Royal Model (sleeping in the sidecar) needed some work to get him to fit into the sidecar and I gave him a new Hornet head.
The motorcycle and sidecar kit is from Lion Roar. The house is a MiniArt kit which I cut to make it fit the scene. The tree is made from twisted wire, Milliput, and branches from Joefix Studio’s.
Thanks for looking.

Hi Bert
This looks very good and you have added a lot of fine details in the diorama, s especially the homemade tree is very well done.

Bert,
Wonderful job on this diorama. The figures details are excellent and I like the paint and weathering on the motorcycle.
That tree is very well done and looks so real and good choice for the bark color.
Nice to look at.

You have created a full novel story in such a small place. This is what a dio does. Fantastic job all the way around. And your tree is one of the best I've seen. Exceptional paint job on your figures too!

Yo Bart,
Well, I hope that they have sweet dreams at that moment...splendid work!!!
Nice little story, very good job on the figies and a fine groundwork, how did you get the grass so straight? It looks good that way.
Thanks for sharing

This is an excellent dio, what did you use for the grass?
The figures are very nicely painted and weathered. I've been looking at the Nemrod paratrooper figs for a dio I've got planned.
How easy are they to put together?
Paul.

Hi Bart,
This looks very good. I really like the scenario, very good figure painting also. The tree is well done also.
I have two observations
( It looks more and more to me that nobody ever dares to give a negative comment anymore)
IMO, the house could use one more wash overall. On the the shadow sides, in the area of the ladder and other stuff, even a bit more.
The gutter also could use some more weathering (is the gutter from the kit?, it looks slightly overscale to me)
Flagstones, used for the path, tend over time to be completely pushed in the ground, nearly no border should be seen anymore.
I wish you great year end festivities!
Claude

Thanks all for the nice comments so far.
to answer a few questions
Nico and Paul - For the grass I used the Wild Grass matt from Noch. I just removed the felt backing, stretched it to to look more realistic and airbrushed it a more natural grass colour.
Paul - I've used Nemrod figures before and really like them. They went together fine.
Claude - Thanks for your comments. I have to disagree with you about the flagstone. I have flag stone just like this at my house...has been there for years and it is always heaving and sinking depending on the weather. The way I have them represented is pretty close to how my real ones look. As for the gutter, yes, it was a kit part.
Thanks again.

Hi, Bart,
What a nice dio you made!
Looking forward to see more of your "mini stories".
How did you get the tree so life like?

Terrific story. I can say that this is one of the better dios posted . Great paint work. To be constructive I would say that the only odd thing that caught my eye was the perfectly pristine roof tiles. Maybe a little weathering , but then again whose to say that this is not to portray a new roof......thanks for sharing.......Al........(edit)..I agree with the others. Fantastic tree and groundwork. Wow !!!!!
