Sean and Jeremy, is there a decent response to this unorthodox form of voting?

It's hard to say at the moment Sean, but I will say that we started receiving votes much sooner than expected. I didn't really expect any votes to be submitted until the weekend started, and we're pretty excited about that. We can't wait to see how this turns out for you guys

It wasn't easy to make my choices but my votes are in. I put more thought into this than I do for a general election.
Looking forward to another Vietnam campaign. I have one or two ideas already.

It was 1/48 Monogram. I don't have any files on it. No matter, I'm up for a SEA 2.

What are the plans for a Vietnam South East Asia II?

Great thanks guys, keep those votes coming!

I wasn't going to start anything for Vietnam: Trouble in Southeast Asia II until I wrapped things up for you guys here. If you really want, I can start a thread for it so we can get the campaign submitted and approved. Just let me know.

I'm ready to do a Vietnam, Trouble in South East Asia II. Would the WW2 era be included this time? This would be a Kit Maker Campaign, correct?

That's an interesting question. Normally I would focus on the 1950's through 1970's. Let me think about it. Is there something in particular that you have in mind?

Good Morning,

Just voted. It was a pretty tough decision to make as there were so many excellent models and dioramas.

I'm looking forward to the second campaign.

Concerning Brent's question about the World War II time period being included, I don't see a problem with it as Ho Chi Mihn was involved in fighting the Japanese in Vietnam. There were some US OSS personnel who were working with the Vietnamese Guerillas to fight the Japanese.

Cheers,
James

The Japanese expansion and occupation of Asia including Indochina (Vietnam) in the 1930's and 1940's can be argued to have been the seeds of the conflict later in the the 20th Century. Some of the subjects from a WW2 Vietnam, people, ships, aircraft, military, civilian would be interesting to research and model. This time period could open up a whole new understanding of ' Indochina, Trouble in South East Asia'.

I already have a good awareness of Japanese Imperialistic expansion, I was just wondering if you had a specific model or story that interested you Brent.

Looking back on current and past campaign themes, I realized that war in Asia is being largely overlooked during the WWII era as well. Aside from having a specific campaign focusing that, this seems to be a good home. I like it, let's roll with it. I am cutting it off roughly around the 1930's, but pre-WWII Imperialistic expansion leading up to WWII and all of WWII will be welcome. While not the focus I intended on, this still provides a relevant and natural flow of history.
I know this isn't familiar territory for most people, so do you homework beforehand.

Thank you for the decision. I have several ideas for a 1940's scene depicting the Japanese occupation. The Saigon scene that I linked to showing the Japanese parading down the street may be the direction I take.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was a common sight in areas of Asia that were controlled by Japanese forces. Sounds like a good plan.

Keep the votes coming guys, we have some very close calls as it stands!

Alright fellas, I have decided to keep the voting poll here within the campaign thread to help avoid any confusion or need to chase another thread down.

Here's the rundown: There are two (2) sections, air forces and ground forces, and there will be three (3) votes per person.

Vote 1: Air Forces (enter number of your selection)
Vote 2: Ground Forces (enter letter of your selection)
Vote 3: Best of Show (enter number or letter of your selection)

Please send your selections to both Sean's and my private message boxes using the above format:

pm Jeremy

pm Sean

Please contact me with any questions.

Good luck to all of our contestants!

We are live!

I know it wasn't stated earlier but Jeremy and I feel 2 weeks for voting should be enough: which gives us just 5 days left! Please get those votes in...

Thanks
Sean

Thanks Julien and everyone else who has voted so far. Every vote counts.

The polls will close at Midnight tonight (Texas time in honor of the leader of this great campaign) and the winners announced shortly thereafter.

Cheers

Voting is now closed, thank you everyone for your participation and support!

With so many outstanding entries, these were clearly not easy choices and there was no landslide win in any of the categories, a true testament to the quality of the work done over the course of this campaign. Vladi was so impressed himself that he is giving out three prizes for Best of Show, and it took a lot for me not to leak that before the voting ended.

Here are our winners:

Air Forces:
Entry number 3, Frigate's 1/48 Monogram Skyraider!
Prize courtesy of Gary Emery of Hill Country Hobbies and myself. (please contact me with your shipping information)

Ground Forces:
Entry letter J, mojo72's 1/35 Village diorama!
Prize Courtesy of Iain Hamilton of AK Interactive USA. (please contact me with your shipping information)

Best of Show:
Entry letters
C, docdios's 1/35 Ontos diorama!
H, Kinggeorges' VC vignette!
N, ReconTL3-1's GI vignette!
Prizes courtesy of Vladimir "Vladi" Demchenko of BRAVO 6. (please contact Vladi for further details, http://armorama.kitmaker.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Messages&file=replypmsg&send=1&uname=Demchenko or [email protected])

I would like to congratulate not only the winners, but every one of you who participated in this campaign because you all really did do well and it does show!

Please don't forget to thank our sponsors for their generosity in offering to sponsor a contest for this campaign, and to Sean Mullarkey for generously stepping out of the contest to help with the voting poll
