Hello,

Some time ago, I started doing a conversion to a M-1078 for the vehicle used by Special Forces.
I could not get much information, only a few pictures I found on the Internet.

The pictures I got are these.

The model is in this stage.

Now I'm looking for other references, anyone know where can I find?

The little information we got was through software. Working on the images...

I appreciate any help...

Best regards,
Frenchy

Nice clean built Sergio ! I agree with you about SF trucks pics being rather thin on the ground ....
Here's at least another one (from Webshots) fitted with the standard M1078 cargo bed :

Hi Frenchy,

Thanks for the compliment ...
I thought about doing the standard cargo area, the work would be much smaller can be sure, but now it's done ...
Thank you for your contribution.

A great build Sergio. I agree there isn't a lot of references to go on but your build looks spot on from the pictures here.

Are you going to have the mid-body mounted seats and the MG on the front right?

Hi Karl,

Yes, I will make the support of MG on the right side, is the next step. I think this weekend he is ready, put the pictures here.

Great Start Sergio
I cannot comment on the accuracy of the version but concerning the flat bed, well it is a flat bed so there are no small bars.
The rest look ok for me you reduce the air filtrer this is ok
the front rack for the jerrycan is missing the small part in the front.
Pro Art is doing nice Pelicase for the flat bed
Please look at mine for inspiration...

Cheers

Talking about reference pics, I've just came across this one (too bad it's no Hi-Res...) :

"Mad Max" belongs to Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group. Looks like it's fitted with an upgraded cab, with a new gun mount and a custom made windshield.
Interesting info here :

PS : Seb, the truck beds pictured in the posted pics are indeed fitted with side rails (save for the one in my previous post of course )...

Hi Seb,

First I would like to thank you for your opinions, I hope to count on its critics.
As said it is complicated to discuss some points, due to little information about the vehicle.

With respect to the side rails of the cargo area, I used this photo as a base, where one can notice that hangs off the alignment of the truck bed.

Speaking on the floor of the cargo bed of the truck, I opted to put a good grid due to professional life, I am a civil engineer working with deployments of roads, and generally the trucks transporting flammable products and chemicals, has this grill to prevent accidents , and from what I could see Gallons of Diesel is what else is in that bed load.
My main idea was to use P.S.P. plates, how are plastic Jerrycans thought best not to use the P.S.P. plates.
This is easily solved, the whole model is pre-assembled with white glue (PVA), so I can adjust or replace parts easily.

What small piece refers Rack front? I searched and found nothing, is to be more specific. Look at the pictures.

Missing some pieces of kit that will be placed in final assembly or during the process of detailing

About Pelicases, I decided to make because he was having difficulties in finding, my intention is to produce various types, see some examples.

I have many kits where I use the Pelicases, then I believe it will be worth the investment.

Still has much work in this model, I am working first forms, then from the detail.

I look forward to their assistance, and other stakeholders.

Best regards,

Mano

Frenchy,

Look who is not too difficult to do on that front.
It would be necessary to get a picture from another perspective, in order to work on proportions.

Thank you for your interest.

Reading again your post, now I realize you were probably talking about the bed floor, not the side rails.... My bad !

@ Frenchy
That's right I am talking about the flat bed not the rail
I have no issue with them

Sergio
Are you producing the boxes ???
If yes please tell how when can sort it out some

Regarding the front rack, the thickness is too big for me
And it is missing a L shape at the end look at the pics with the 40 mm ammo boxe you can see it

Cheers

Seb,

As they say, a picture is worth 1000 words.

I did rack using plasticard 0.2mm, the thinnest I had, if you speak in scale is not correct because it would be 0.12mm. I'm also not as demanding as well, I try to do as close as possible with the material I have. I thought of using sheet brass, most with the stock was exhausted. The problem of the thickness of the Rack is easily solved with the help of sandpaper.

I did the articulated arm that supports the M240. I did not like and I'll do it again, any suggestions?

Regarding the boxes, I have no idea of putting on the market, for own use. So what comes out the first set you notice. Sending pictures in high definition so you can evaluate, we'll talk.

Regards,

Sérgio (Mano)

Perfect with the pics so you did it right
Concerning the M240, I did use the mount from PAM for them special humvee and the para saw
But chill out it is a SF vehicle so there is no rule you do want you want
Quality is really good
I contact you in PM regarding the case
Cheers

This is a great build - I really like the bed and pelicases! BraVo....

Gilbert,

Is there a conversion kit in resin, but I gave up to acquire, look I was insistent. Who produces the set is A.E.F. Design.

The biggest problem I see is the lack of information that car converted.

I was on vacation, now I must go with a bit more calm but I'll keep updated the topic...

Sergio,
Good to see another ambitious WIP on the Warpig.. I'll be joining you next month with 2 of these conversions for clients...with the exemption that'll I'll be going the lazier way ~ via various resin sets.

Keep it up!

AEF kits are are lucky draws... I have their IDF Stryker conversion and it's a waste of $, the parts supplied were basic..I should have scratch built them instead. Worst thing is that there was no RWS!

Seb's M1078 build is a good reference...

One would wonder if a conversion kit is already in the works...........

Nick,

I also wanted to go the lazy side, here in Brazil is more complicated to import material, due to delays in shipping rates and government ...

I have the drawings at 1:35 scale, the rack front and sides of the cargo bed. If you need just ask.
