Is this a limited production type thing.. or do you plan a line of modern vehicles? And will you have distributors outside the US?

Thank you

Nope .. a new company..

i agree with spider. it is likely to be a new brand run by one of the two companies. you should know that hobbyboss is also run by trumpeter so maybe this is the third one. only my guess

I wonder if the aftermarket companies have anything lined up for these kits. I mean if the reference supplier provided said company with info to make said kit, other reference suppliers could provide aftermarket companies with corrections.

The aftermarket products for the Landrover WMIK came a few months after the release of the Hobbyboss kit, and fortunately the same release year too.

There should be enough online photo reference to get this MRAP correct, not to mention being from China, Panda could use the Concord Publications photo books as well. If the release date is September for the MRAP, it'll be a nice treat if most aftermarket companies could get their MRAP correction kits out by Christmas.

Not sure where you have heard that, but Hobby Boss is NOT run by Trumpeter.

Both companies have their offices in the same industrial complex, and use the same firm to design and cut their molds, but that is where the similarity ends

Hobby Boss and Trumpeter aren't like Dragon and Cyber Hobby....they are 2 separate companies that just happen to use the same design company for their molds.

the r&d manager of trumpeter himself called HOBBYBOSS as the 'sockpuppet' of trumpeter. they looks like two companies but in fact, they are just like two different forum ID which belong to one very person . they post their ads together on Chinese modelling magezines, also they deliver their goods together to our hobby shops.

i confirmed from trumpeter that panda hobby has nothing to do with trumpeter and more detail remains unknown.
BTW, kinetic model also released a M-ATV in 1:35 scale as their first AFV item today... http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/newkitnews/kinetic.html

Just like public transport you wait for ages on the bus and then 2 comes along at once. Well now Kinetic Models have announced on PMMS that they will be releasing a kit No K61007 in 1/35 scale for the M-ATV (MRAP) (November)

hi Max
i represent the new Panda Model Co. [...]

Thank you so much for this wonderful new kit! It's like an early Christmas to me. The M-ATV is the most interesting vehicle in current US service. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

With great pleasure I also read you plan to release more modern stuff in the future, right?! As much as I like US vehicles, I hope you also consider some other nations' stuff, for example a German Dingo 1/2 or a Fennek or a Fuchs 1A8 in 1/35th (yes I'm day-dreamin')

Maybe a more reasonable wish/question: Is there any chance we'll see a SPARKS mine-roller in plastic, too?

Again, thanks for this outstanding announcement.

I contacted Daniel from Hobbyeasy and told him about this kit and he contacted the Panda company and they told him the kit will be available in early September but the price is not fixed yet.

Can't wait to get one... or two...

Neither version has the candid camera though. That's kind of a big deal. And there are several turret options, should be a good time for the AM crowd.

Excuse my ignorance, but I have a question about this M-ATV... what is the empty open area in the back used for? Is it just intended for stowage and things lile that?
