Thanks everyone for the positive review. This kit is just great from HB when compairing it to some of their older kits, like their not so wonderful leopards.
Craig for the base color I used Vallejo Iraqi sand, followed by a filter of brown for dark yellow and then a filter of brown for desert yellow.
Keith I'm guessing there are suppose to be seat belts for the front seats. The frames for the seat have the equipment for the belts, but I did not make any for them. I'll more likely will make them on my next build. I think they are the retractable type like used in most cars. Without the frame for the drives seat you would have to make all the hardware for the belts.
Hopefully HB will follow up this release and make both the hard and soft top version. The possibilities are endless and throw in a left hand drive conversion and then you could make the Czech WMIK
One of the MINOR flaws that I see is the seat belt receiver (painted black with Red release button) for the front gunner/commander is on the outside of the seat? this is actually inboard on both, the other side of the seat!
You can see the belt and guide attached to the roll bar, left and right of the head restraints on this Accurate Armour display model. >

Here is a better view of the set belts and hardware I found over on flickr. I can not post the picture since it is copywrited, so instead here is the link.

thanks Patrick, I'm just about finished with the build. It has taken me twice as long to do all the paint compaired to the building of the kit. Usually it's the other way around for me, but this kit is almost perfect that it kind of builds it's self.

Stuuning finish to a cracking blog. Love the plinth and the way everything is set out. It all works so well with the figures and all.
My only thought would be to have a third figure in the .50 cal mounting top cover while the other two do their thing. JMOTs.
What a way to end the build. Love it.

Thanks Nige
I would love to add another figure to the .50, but the only other british soldier I have is from the SBS set and the way he is standing would not worked out in the gun ring. Next time I will order a set from AA, hopefully we will se more figures being released.

Very nice! Is the vehicle and figures all glued to the base?
Wow, the vignette looks like you spent a lot of money on it! It just looks superb!

Thanks everyone for the great comments
There are a few areas that I could have improved on, but that will be for the next build. Some seems and joints that should of been filled in and sanded. But I'm just happy I have completed it and it turned out the way I hoped it would.
Beleive it or not I did not spend awhole lot money on it, all the figures, gear, and weapons were stuff I had laying around in the spare parts bin. The figures are not glued down, I have metal pins in the bottom of the feet that allow them to stand without glueing.

hi great build, just a couple of things the snipers rifle wasn't used in 2003, it was just purchased last year as an urgent operational requirement (UOR) for afghanastan, also the standing guys rifle is a bit odd, i would have said it would been better either across the chest or slung at his side.

Hi Guys,
First,very nice job Chris.
I'm just wondering what every one thinks of the Legend stowage set.The bags, netting basket and covered spare tire look good, but the side panels and doors seem to cover up a lot of a nice kit.My knowledge of Land Rovers is to say at the least very limited. My concern is wether to buy the upgrade and not use half of it or just scatch build some of the items ?????

Tom
Included in the Legends set is the missing bonnet stowage bin, new seats (the gunner's without the dodgy seatbelt),MAPIK Tactical armour set, replacement rear stowage bin (full), AT4 recoiless weapons, various ECM posts and Bowman aerial bases plus numerous other items of kit. The Bergans look wrong for British kit ( more like the old Para bergan) but overall the quality looks great.
A pity they didn't address the oversized .50, chunky GPMG and dodgy looking SA80's and better TUAAM's would have been good too. Maybe I'm being a bit greedy now LOL?
The MAPIK armour goes someway to hide the fact that the inside is sparse (no radios etc). The AT4 (ILAW) probably pushing it for this early WMIK LAW80 would have been more appropriate...as are the Bowman and ECM antennas.
There is a lot of useful stuff in the set though

Hi Tom
See this link
http://www.track-link.net/forum/news_industry/20823 the Bergans are on the front left and right-hand side...with the side pockets (too small for a current issue Bergan) and large rear pocket ( way too large). The Bergan ( rucksack/backpack) is part of the soldiers personal load carrying equipment (PLCE). The other bags I'm not sure about they look like holdhalls ? but don't quite capture the shape of the 'black bag' or British Army deployment bag. The kit on the front right could be a Bergan with cover.

Thanks for sharing your pics.
I have finished the chasis on mine and am working on the body.
I have the Legend kit with the stowage and extra panels (I assume kevlar). It appears that the Legend kit is designed for an Afghan era Land Rover. I have a an extra 40 mm grenade laucher and am thinking of swapping out the fifty for it but don't really have nay clear pictures of the mount.
Thanks again. Your pictures have been invaluable.

Not a problem at all, nice fun kit to build up. Helps to break up some of the painful kits out there today.
If you are going to use the 40mm, I do believe the British version is slightly different from our's here in the US. I could be wrong, but check out the H&K website for the gun or just google it. I think the receiver is shaped different and does not have the two charging handles.

Hi,
Just quick question about the seams on the frame. Should they show a weld seam or should they be filled.
BTW thanks for the tip about the transfer case.
Very nice looking model, hope mine comes out that well.

Thanks,
I was able to find some clear pictures of the mount an gun.
Fortunately it was a fairly straight forward modification.
