A bit of background here..WW I..Model T Lorry on its way to the front...but the road sign is down and the Brits are lost, time to flip a coin. This is my first shot at a dio and my first try at figures. Both presented their own unique challanges. I believe it was Slodder who mentioned painting the trunks on the bushes..Thanks and I did.Photos dont show it. To all that gave me advice ..Thankyou..I am pleased with the effort..More comments are welcome..Hope you like,, being its a subject we dont see much.

Super good job bro! Very well laid out - a nice story.
I really like the painting on the figs. Are you sure they're your first?!
I have nothing in the way of critisisms, only praise.

That really looks nice. It was fun watching your progress on this project it went from a winter scene (tee, hee) to a nice summer scene. You really did a nice job on this dio, and like Kencelot said it's a neat little story.
Who makes those figures?

Thanks all. I had fun doing it and without all the help from this site It would not have been nearly what I hoped for..Armorama A#1..Porkchop..figures are from Model Cellar Productions out of PA. Took me a long time to find any WWI figures. Not many out there.

PvtParts,

This is excellent - the subject matter is good and the story of the diorama is a very nice touch indeed. Well done! :-)

Not bad. The face of the figs are quite expressed out. The groundwork is good too. Also the extras are nicely done and neatly placed. Nice job! Keep it up!

You've knocked the ball right out of the park for a home run! This is an excellent piece of work. I like the casual pose of the two guys and the fact that one guy's holding the road sign. Way cool. The best shot is the last, since the figure leaning on his gun is looking right at the viewer but nothing is squared off.

You are right about WWI being overlooked, although , looking at MMD/Squadron's catalog there seems to be a good number of kits available.

I really like your Dio, excellent work.

This is an excellent piece of work. Great groundwork too. What does the sign say, exactly?

I know technically I am supposed to critique this diorama, being this is the RRB and all. However, I really can't find anything I don't like. Very unusual subject and time period, great groundwork and story.

Well done.

I really like what you have done with this and I could feel the atmosphere you've created, if i was them i wouldn't be in a hurry to get to the Somme.
I just have 2 questions.
I see the men have no weapons with them, not being able to see in the car I wondered if they were inside?
I'm sure you did alot of research on this and I was curious as to wether the men have any unit or rank markings on their uniforms.
Thanks I look forward to your answers and hope you will do another WW1as this is the time I have seen this subject.
Cheers

Hi Remearmr, The weapons are in the vehicle being they are basic delivery boys with the Lorry ( model T) As far as markings I really didnt find much of any when it came to the lowly grunt. Especially the delivery crew.

Airwarrior..The "T" is a kit from RPM and it went together fairly well. Eastern European kit. There was a lot of sanding to do.
